Hi Jojo, welcome to the forums...I needed to add a few more verses so the context is clear.

ACTS 3
20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:
21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.
22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.
23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.
24 Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.

ACTS 7
20 In which time Moses was born, and was exceeding fair, and nourished up in his father's house three months:
21 And when he was cast out, Pharaoh's daughter took him up, and nourished him for her own son.
22 And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and in deeds.
23 And when he was full forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brethren the children of Israel.
24 And seeing one of them suffer wrong, he defended him, and avenged him that was oppressed, and smote the Egyptian:
25 For he supposed his brethren would have understood how that God by his hand would deliver them: but they understood not.
26 And the next day he shewed himself unto them as they strove, and would have set them at one again, saying, Sirs, ye are brethren; why do ye wrong one to another?
27 But he that did his neighbour wrong thrust him away, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge over us?
28 Wilt thou kill me, as thou diddest the Egyptian yesterday?
29 Then fled Moses at this saying, and was a stranger in the land of Madian, where he begat two sons.
30 And when forty years were expired, there appeared to him in the wilderness of mount Sina an angel of the Lord in a flame of fire in a bush.
31 When Moses saw it, he wondered at the sight: and as he drew near to behold it, the voice of the LORD came unto him,
32 Saying, I am the God of thy fathers, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. Then Moses trembled, and durst not behold.
33 Then said the Lord to him, Put off thy shoes from thy feet: for the place where thou standest is holy ground.
34 I have seen, I have seen the affliction of my people which is in Egypt, and I have heard their groaning, and am come down to deliver them. And now come, I will send thee into Egypt.
35 This Moses whom they refused, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge? the same did God send to be a ruler and a deliverer by the hand of the angel which appeared to him in the bush.
36 He brought them out, after that he had shewed wonders and signs in the land of Egypt, and in the Red sea, and in the wilderness forty years.
37 This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear.
38 This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:

JOHN 14
16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. Moses is speaking not to the fathers of the prophet, but to the "fathers" or perhaps you would better understand "elders" of the community. Perhaps this is the beginning of your confusion.

Jesus was through Mary of their "brethren," so there is no problem with this verse referring to Jesus. As was already pointed out, in the third verse, Jesus was referring specifically to the Holy Spirit, which came upon the disciples with power after Jesus' Resurrection and Ascending to Heaven.

Hi Jojo,

Christians believe that the prophet God promised to Moses is Jesus.

Here is what God said to Moses:Deut 18:15
"The LORD your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your midst, from your brethren. Him you shall hear.
NKJV

Deut 18:19
And it shall be that whoever will not hear My words, which He speaks in My name, I will require it of him.
NKJV
Now here is what God said about Jesus:Luke 9:35
35 And a voice came out of the cloud, saying, "This is My beloved Son. Hear Him!"
NKJV
Because Jesus is the One promised, there was and is no need for any more after Him. This is what Jesus said about Himself:John 14:6
Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."
NKJV
And the apostle Paul later said this concerning Jesus:Acts 4:12
Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."
NKJV

This is what we believe as Christians.

The problem with this thesis is that Muhammad isn't a prophet. He was misguided, he taught contrary to Scripture, in short, he was wrong. Thus, the Bible simply can't be foretelling of Muhammed because Muhammed doesn't teach the truth.

Rather, this passage is teaching about Christ and the Holy Spirit. The first two are referring to prophecies that apply to Jesus the Messiah, God coming down in flesh and dying for our sins. The second (in John) refers to the Holy Spirit, for He says that the Spirit shall dwell with us forever. Obviously, this is not in reference to Muhammad. Muhammad - last time I checked - died and is no longer with us. The Holy Spirit, being the third person of the Trinity, is eternal and is with us forever.

Does that help explain how Christians view this passage?

The only kind of prophet Muhammad was, was a false prophet. His name isn't worthy to even be spoken in the same sentence as Jesus Christ, the Savior. There is no comparison. One is false, the other is The Truth.

John14:“Jesus says: 16: ‘I will pray the Father, and he shall give another comforter -that he may abide with you forever.’”

Jojo, the crucial part of this passage in John you quoted, "that he may abide with you forever" is what tells us that Jesus was referring to the Holy Spirit. This also fulfilled the prophecy of Joel:

Joe 2:28 "And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions.

Jesus couldn't possibly have been referring to Mohammed. According to Wikipedia Mohammed was born around 570 and died around 632. He has been dead nearly 1400 years and walked this earth for some 62 years. How can he be the one who will "abide with us forever"? He's dead.

The Holy Spirit, on the other hand, is still with us, strengthening and guiding us, and glorifying Jesus.

the amazing thing i saw in the Quran " the book that muslims have" i read i saw that you will say that about this prophet

Do you spose that the koran says this because it was written AFTER mohammed went about preaching his version of faith? And in the process he experienced the same arguements.
Does your koran also explain to you what it meant to be "a prophet like unto" him??????
Let me explain it to you...
Moses was not only a prophet, but he also interceded for the people....he often stood between man and God, pleading for the forgiveness of the sins of the people. He also healed the people and gave them water and food in the wilderness.
Let me explain this further...

Many times the people; during their exodus from Egypt; sinnned against God. And each time, Moses, asked God to forgive them, and God did.
When Jesus died on the cross, and the people had been sinning against God, Jesus said...

Luk 23:33 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/popup.pl?book=Luk&chapter=23&verse=33&version=kjv#33)And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him,

Luk 23:3 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/popup.pl?book=Luk&chapter=23&verse=34&version=kjv#34)4 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

When they found themselves thirsty in the wilderness, God told Moses to strike the rock, and it would bring forth water.

Jesus Christ is called THE Rock, God is called our Rock of Salvation, Christ, is not a last name, but it is a title, meaning Saviour, or Messiah. Jesus said
Jhn 4:14 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/popup.pl?book=Jhn&chapter=4&verse=14&version=kjv#14)But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

Jesus gives water to those who trust in Him as Saviour and Lord. That is to say, He quenches our thirst for deep spiritual truth and love and a relationship with God.

When Moses struck the Rock, it represented Christ being "struck", as the prophets fortold.....you believe the prophets don't you????

Zec 13:7 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/popup.pl?book=Zec&chapter=13&verse=7&version=kjv#7)¶Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man [that is] my fellow, saith the LORD of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones.

and that word there "fellow" in that verse, means many things...

1) relation, neighbour, associate, fellow

The highlighted words are the only ones that make sense when referring to Jesus, and since Jesus is God's Son, it would make sense to use a word that can also be used as someone who is "related" to Him, and since Jesus is God manifested in the flesh, it also makes sense to use a word that means associate, which could indicate "equal".

And Yes, Jesus had parents, God and Mary....Mary being a Jew, made Jesus a Jew by blood, so He was from among Moses bretheren...the Jews. But His Father was God, because Mary was a virgin when she became pregnant and it was made clear to her and Joseph that God was the Father. The Jews, understood this to mean that Jesus was equal to God, or "God" Himself. Forgot to throw this in there earlier, but didn't want to forget it.

When they grew hungry, God told Moses they would be fed the Manna from heaven....He gave Moses the instructions for the people to follow in order to eat this manna (also called bread)...
Jesus is the bread from heaven...

Jhn 6:35 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/popup.pl?book=Jhn&chapter=6&verse=35&version=kjv#35)And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

This is the bread that fills us, it satisfies our souls, that longing and hunger for fellowship with God, that desire for peace and joy (different than happiness)....Jesus is the only way to get that fullfillment.

And when they had sinned in the wilderness and as punishment serpents were sent among them. Moses was told by God to make a brass serpent and put it on the end of a stick and lift it up. And all who looked upon this brass serpent would be healed. And it was so...Serpents represent satan and sin. Brass represents JUDGEMENT, and it was brass that the "altar" was made of. The altar is what sacrifices for sin were burnt on....the fire under the altar represents the fires of hell.

Jesus was crucified, "lifted up" for our judgement and forgiveness. If you don't believe that He was crucified, but you believe He was a prophet then surely you will believe His own words...

Jhn 3:14 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/popup.pl?book=Jhn&chapter=3&verse=14&version=kjv#14)And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

Jhn 3:15 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/popup.pl?book=Jhn&chapter=3&verse=15&version=kjv#15)That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

Jhn 12:32 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/popup.pl?book=Jhn&chapter=12&verse=32&version=kjv#32)And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all [men] unto me.
Jhn 12:33 (http://www.blueletterbible.org/cgi-bin/popup.pl?book=Jhn&chapter=12&verse=33&version=kjv#33)This he said, signifying what death he should die.

Jesus often referred to HImself as the "Son of Man" because that's what He came for, to be the representative "man" who takes the punishment for all of human kind.
And all who look upon Jesus as their Saviour will be healed of their sin and forgiven...cleansed of their sins, forever, and given new life in Christ, which means heaven and a new body at the resurrection...a body that cannot sin or die or get sick or hurt or hungry or anything bad.

These are the things that Moses was referring to when he said that a prophet like himself would come along.

The bible says that the wages of sin is death, and all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God...but Jesus is God, so He did not sin....He is not capable of sin. However He was made LIKE unto sinful flesh, so He could take all of our sins upon Himself when He was crucified. Thereby taking our punishment upon Himself. And since He was without sin, He was able to accomplish this and resurrect Himself. It's kind of like being too sick to go anywhere, but you need someone to take your rent check to the owners of the building you live in....so you ask your healthy neighbor who has a car, to take the check to the owners so you don't get kicked out. That's basically what Christ did for us, He took our sins upon Himself, He CHOSE to take the blame for our sins, and then dropped it off in hell and came back to tell us that we are free!!!:pp:bounce:

PS... All these things that took place in "the wilderness" represent how sin seperated man from God...and how Moses helped to bring them together again, as does Christ for all who believe on Him for who the bible says He is. And in such a great way that man can actually FEEL God's presence and HEAR God speak.

I know that Allah is the "Moon-god".
However, before the actual Moon came into existance, there was YHWH.
HE spoke everything into existance - including the Sun and the the Earth and all the stars and galaxies, and even the Moon.

YHWH is one. Yet HE has shown Himself in three ways.
Being so Holy that no person could approach - HE has made a way.
HE took on His shoulders the sin that makes every person unclean - upon Himself by becoming the man, Jesus.
The Lamb of God.

This is good news, because someone has already provided a way into the presence of God to be with HIM forever. You don't have to work your way in. You don't have to become a martyr through Jehad to gain entrance into Heaven.

Jesus said:
"I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.
"If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him."

what you say about Muhammad (the prophet of muslims)?
remember that all things that he said in past ,happened.

Muhammad was a sinner who lived 600 years after the Bible was completed.
Muhammad's book, the Koran (of which I've read and carefully compared with the Bible), is full of hundreds of contradictions; that show me it is not another additional revelation from God; but rather, a fanciful work of fiction that unforutantely has grown to mislead many millions of people away from the true God.

The apostle John, who walked and talked with Jesus; told us that anyone who did not accept Jesus to be the Son of God was not of God; and calls God a Liar, and is an antichrist.

Mohammed then, per the Apostle John's writing, must and should be rejected.

do you know moon story ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,?
ask muslims they will answer you.
and muslims believe in all prophets

Sure Muslims will give us answers; but they are based on a religion that doesn't follow the true God of Creation; and is filled with teachings that aren't true and conflict with God's Holy Word as given in the BIble and preserved by God for roughly 3,500 years.

Mohammad's Koran tells me:

Surah 19:86 "And we will herd the guilty to Hell, to be their eternal abode. No one will possess the power to intercede, except those who conform to the laws of the Most Gracious. They said, ""The Most Gracious has begotten a son"! Assuredly, you have indeed uttered a most hideous thing. Whereby almost the heavens are torn, and the earth is split asunder and the mountains fall in ruins, Because they claim that the Most Gracious has begotten a son. It is not befitting the Most Gracious that He should beget a son."

Yet God's Holy Word the Bible strongly disagrees and says to me:

I John 1:1 "That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. Then this is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you"

"Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.

In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. "

Yet Mohammad and his Koran tell us to reject Jesus as not being the begotten son of God; and not to remain faithful to the Holy Scriptures that God gave us.

Notice carefully the last line in blue above. It tells us in one simple statement, that the Koran is untrustworthy, and Mohammad is not a prophet of God....or both Mohammed and the Koran contradict what God's Word spoken from Jesus Himself expressly says.

Perhaps you can ask some relevant questions that will help us show you the true God, and why Islam isn't the correct answer, and is a hopeless and conflicted religion that cannot save you from the fires of destruction because of your unrepentant and unforgiven sins.

Muhummad married a 7 year old as well as a 10 year old. Does this sound like a Messiah to you? Muhummad comes from the seed of Ishmael. God said that His blessings would flow through Isaac. This Blessing is none other than Jesus. If Muhummad denounces Jesus as being Who He is, the Son of God, this is an easy way to determine that he himself is no prophet of God.
