Wet Dream Help?

I'm 18 and a freshman in college. I started tamasterbating when i was 13 and within the last year or so i've been trying to stop. My girlfriend and I used to have sex but since then have broken up and I'm now commited to honor God and wait til marriage. Now that i have stopped masterbating i have wet dreams quite often. Every other forum i go to say's the only way to stop wet dreams is to masterbate. That's where my problem comes in. I don't want to masterbate or have wet dreams. I want to stop all ejaculation until I'm married. I wouldn't even be upset if a wet dream came every now adn then but 3 times a week seems like a little much. So any other ideas on how to stop wet dreams without giving in to masterbation.

Sorry this is all I can find I got this from a site with similar problems......everything I have heard about stopping wet dreams were to have sex and masterbate,but that would not be good for a christian......my friend had a similar problem.He found out why he keeps getting it and its because he moves alot during sleep whick make pillows,sheets,blanket,matress rub up against your......thats how he got it.Weird isn't it.
Do you move alot during sleep?

Can I ask you something? How much of the word are you reading? If you're committed to reading the scriptures, take a moment and skip to Leviticus. This book shows what the Old Testament laws were about sexuality. They're extremely specific. The issue you bring up, is also specifically addressed.

Leviticus 15:16-17 "When a man has an emission of semen, he must bathe his whole body with water, and he will be unclean till evening. 17 Any clothing or leather that has semen on it must be washed with water, and it will be unclean till evening.

Wet dreams are as natural and unavoidable as a woman's period, and carry similar ceremonial cleanliness concerns. Having a wet dream is not a sin. Period. I want you to be absolutely confident in this fact, because if you build up significant negative feelings towards something natural, you risk creating a more dangerous sexual complex.

Its time for a deep dive into the word of God and find out what it actually says vs. what people want you to believe it says.

Uh, no. Wet dreams often start even before a growing male knows how to masturbate. Having a wet dream has NO (none, nada) reflection of a person's sin. Its just something your body does, just as a woman has a period. They both have the same consequence in Old Testament law: ceremonial uncleanliness. You get our friend thinking that something they can't help (wet dreams) has something to do conscious sin, and you're putting them on the path of deep seeded sexual issues. Be very careful.

Well, sin or not, they will subside in a few weeks, maybe a couple of months. They WILL go away, eventully. I used to get them as a preteen... they lasted about 3 months. You have nothing to worry about.

Ok, let me wind that back. Wet dreams originally happen due to an injection of hormones in purberty. They generally subside into adult-hood due to the hormones balancing. Constant masturbation tells your body you are regularly having sex so it makes more semen to cope with the extra usage. So one can naturally see how, if you are battling with masturbation and try to cut down, the body going through withdrawal would want your subconscious to do what you normally do, thus the wet dreams.

It is either something like the above or he is having hormone imbalances which he should see his doctor about.

There's not much you can do about it. It's natural and annoying, I'm sure. Just clean up afterwards and keep praying. Stay rooted in the word. It'll pass.

hey, I have the exact same problem, and that Is why i am here. Last night I had an awful wet dream, and I hate them because they seperate me from God. I am 15 and gave up masturbation in january, and they happen every 3-4 days, and I am fed up with them, I pray and read the word a lot. I am a born again christian. By the way keep it up, I pray that mine will subside sometime as well as yours. God bless.

I seem to remember reading somewhere that lusting causes your body to produce more semen, which then leads to more wet dreams. I don't know how true this is, but maybe this could be your problem?

I use to think that God was testing me in mydream and if I ejaculated then I failed the test. I would say, don't beat yourself up over masturbation or wet dream - there is now no condemnation. Saturate you mind with God's Word daily, that is, put God's thoughts in your head, renew your mind.

Do you remember your dreams at the time? Are they lustful dreams?
Nocturnal emissions are natural, and not sinful in itself, but a lustful dream is still lust and sinful. So if you are not having lustful dreams and it is just natural processes occurring, have no worries, they will begin to subside in the future. But if lustful dreams are causing them, then repent and take it to God. Ask him to give you the desires of your heart, and to purify your mind.

Trust me they will stop. I used to be addicted to porn and after I stopped those dreams started. But all I did was pray and tell God the truth, that I was commited to not going back to porn or masturbation, I wasn't ready to get married, and that I was definitley not going to start having pre-marital sex and after I prayed about it, they stopped. Remember, the effecutal fervrent prayer of the rightouess availth much, so just pray, be upfront with God, don't hid your sin or secret desires and ask for forgivness and healing with this and He is faithful and just to forgive and help you and deliver you from this.
