Icky! Honestly, I love all other veggies (Brussels sprouts are a favorite), but I've never had a yummy eggplant. They have a bitter taste that I just don't like.

It's too bad, too, because they're gorgeous with that dark shiny purple skin, and they're probably really healthy, but I just don't like them.

It's a plant and delicious. I've had it fried in olive oil, eggplant parmision and I've also had it in a casserole with ground turkey. Makes me hungry just thinking about it.

I like egg plant. Dont know how the name was arrived at. It is in the squash family. Fried is my preferance. Good raw in salad, stewed, cassarole, part of stir fry. Most folks either like it or dont. Not many in between.

Fried green tomatoes - now there's a wonderful food!! Nothing quite like it!

Eggplant is fine as long as it is prepared correctly. It's a plant, Peter. I have no idea how they arrived at that name. It has a beautiful dark purple skin with a cream colored interior or flesh.

I prepared eggplant for the first time, this Thanksgiving. I didn't have a clue on how to fix it, I was told after slicing it, to salt the slices really good and let it sit for awhile to kill the bitter taste. Turned out pretty good!!! Now, I am hooked.

I didn't like eggplant until I had it in Israel last year. They baked them and them mixed the inside with other things, like garlic and olive oil. It was the best. I got a couple of recopies from Hupo's wife when he was still active on the board.

I think waffles should be a choice.

Is there a wrong answer?

Can I flunk this quiz?

No waffles this time, maybe later if you are a well behaved superhero :D

Now go eat your egg plant. Jefferey told me ALL superhero's eat egg plant!

Alton Brown on Good Eats did a whole show once on egg plant. He told it's history, how to buy a good one and the best ways to prepare it. But as usual, being ADD, 5 minutes later I forgot everything he said :hmm:

Egg plant (and sometimes green tomatoes) has always tasted bitter to me when fried. That's why I was so surprised when I discovered that one my favorite dishes in Israel was egg plant.
