Now the Winter is here; Are you going to have a Flu Jab?
Can it realy be that important to some people to have flu jab?
Now its easy to catch a cold.

I'm going to have one this year; they offer them for free at my workplace. I've had proper flu twice in my life and that was enough. It's not just a very bad cold; it knocks you absolutely flat and delirious for a week or more.

The question of course is whether each year's composite flu jab is likely to guard against the particular strain(s) going round. Given the noise they're making over here about the Australian strain Brisbane H3N2, which has killed hundreds in Australia, I'm opting in this year. My husband works in a school with asylum seekers who come from all over the world, and he thoughtfully brings all manner of germs and infections home.

I take it you mean as the folks on this side of the pond call it a flu shot
then yes I will get one sense there free at my place of employment an I have some high risk people in my life that I would not want to give the flu to

Jab sounds more painful than shot. :P

Meh...I've never opted for the shot.

I've never had a flu shot, don't plan on getting one this year either. I try to steer clear of antibiotics/immunizations for all but the really serious stuff. I figure my body's made to fight most of that stuff, so why not let it? It's a good idea to give one's immune system a good workout every once in a while. ;)

is a flu jab different from a flu shot? I never get the shot and just take my chances. I wash my hands frequently and keep away from sick people.

I had mine a few days ago. First time in years. But I will be in closer quarters with coughing people this winter so I opted to get it.

It did not hurt. I teased and taunted him letting him know how I used to give those hugh Penicillin shots when I worked as a nurse and so he was quite gentle with me :P

NO WAY! Snakes and needles are the only things I'm scared of and I avoid both at all costs.

It's been my experience that flu shots are a waste of time.

There is always some new flu strain going around that is resistant to the shot and you end up getting sick anyways.

I'll take my vitamins and pass on the shots.

I think I will have someone write "F-L-U" on three of their fingers and ask them to punch me in the face.
