What is God to me?
Many don’t believe, they just cannot see.
They fail to see, God is everything to me.
He is the provider of just what I need,
But for some there is no end to their greed.
I was once like them, wanting it all.
Not knowing how low I would fall.
Now I have a hope, I know what is in store for me.
And for those who don’t; I feel such anguish and such pity.
For they know not the God of their creation, their maker.
No, they go through life not as a giver, but as a taker.
Taking life for granted, as their right, their life is their own they think.
Oh Lord, have mercy on them! They don’t understand it can all end in a blink.
They don’t know the God of love, love for all mankind.
Yes, His love is for all, freely given. If they seek, they shall find.
They don’t know the God who would sacrifice His only Son.
With His death our new life was born, a hope of a future had begun.
They don’t know the God who is above all, above everything.
The one who, the gift of His grace, to all He will bring.
They only know what they can see and feel.
They only know the ways of man, to them that is what is real.
Yes they reject the only one who can save them, deny His very existence.
Fight themselves, fight what is in their heart with all their resistance.
There hearts are as hard and cold as stone.
And I cry for them for they know not that they are not alone.
You see, God is everything to me!
He would still live without me, but without Him I would cease to be.
You say you don’t understand that view?
There is a hope, just open your heart, seek Him and He will find you
