I think it may be but I want to know your opinion. Is it a sin to workout for vain reasons (ie. to appear more attractive to attract girls)?

I wouldn't think so, just as long as you don't try to entice them into an immoral relationship. Go for it.

Hey dude, I google and one of the meanings for Vain is...
having or showing undue or excessive pride in one's appearance or achievements: conceited
But I think that if you are getting in shape that's a great thing, just remember to give God the glory. Praise God for that extra lift or extra mile you run. Sometimes we all want to think that girls are attracted to us because our minds, souls and actions but must of the time the "1st look" is the appearance. Then it is up to you to show her the true you. And if it is God's will then it will be. Pray today for the future lady that you will meet tomorrow or the next day.....
And give God the glory when it happens.

Keeping yourself healthy can be a good motivation (ie. being attaractive) but from what I've seen it tends to lead someone into excessive vanity which is sin. Sin itself enslaves you.

If it is a partner for life that you seek, a wife...then you are going about this the wrong way.

I would always recommend a meeting of minds/hearts/personalities when looking for a girlfriend/wife.

The body changes as we age.

A much better approach to working out is one of moderation and consistency towards health. Excessive workouts, whatever the temporary motive never last in the long run.

Absolutely it's a sin to work out just for appearance, lol. All men do that to a point, but what I am really focusing now on is strength.

Just as we need spiritual food and obstacles to overcome to help us become stronger and healthier spiritually we also need physical food and exercise to keep our flesh bodies healthy. Do it for the right reasons, pray for the right mate and God will provide. Go to church social functions or other christian gatherings and meet new people. You never know who you'll meet.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20
Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.

1 Timothy 4:8
For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

No, working out to make onself look good is not sinful. Like anything it can become sinful though if you put it before God. I think verse 8 of 1 Timothy 4 kind of adresses what you're asking the best. I'm pretty sure during Paul's time, there were a lot of Roman citizens he was preaching to that were into body sculpting and whatnot. Thus, I think he was kind of trying to lead Timothy away from the style of thought that being excessively muscled was of great benefit to one during this life. Doesn't mean that excercise isn't a good thing though. I imagine Jesus and most of the disciples were in fairly good shape, as they had to do labor in order to receive food and shelter.
