1 Peter 3:1-2 (New King James Version)
1] Wives, likewise, be submissive to your own husbands, that even if some do not obey the word, they, without a word, may be won by the conduct of their wives, 2] when they observe your chaste conduct accompanied by fear.
The Savvy Wife
Nobody knows you like your family knows you. They see all of your great qualities , and the not so great ones as well. And Nobody knows you better than your spouse. Stop and think about it: would you really want to live with YOU most days? How do you find fulfillment and the joy of living inside the home? Peter says to forget about yourself and think of your "better half" instead. Women should be "submissive" to their husbands. That word does not mean "subservient." It means cooperating with the husband in his role as the leader of the home; willingly and intentionally helping him realize God's vision for what your home together should be. In the process, the wife affirms the husband, and the husband carries his responsibilities with increased confidence and assurance. Sounds pollyannaish to you? Try it for a week and see what happens. It may be the best week you've had together in a long time.
FOR TODAY: Find ways to affirm and value your wife or husband.
