I keep quoting another and my replies wind up in their quote box! I am trying to figure out why this happens. Just ignore me.

Because I am trying to figure out how to stop this.

Usually when you put someones words in a quote box, it is them you are replying to. My mistake-I thought thats who you were responding to.

Of course, I can't even seem to stop putting my replies in their quote box so what do I know?:B

You post between the quoted areas

Continue to write your reply.

Just use the [] instead of the {} I had to simulate.

Giving it one more try and trying to get 15 words strung together so it will be accepted, blah blag blah yadda yadda

Because I am trying to figure out how to stop this.

Nope-not working I can tell because it is not counting my reply as a part of the 15 words needed. Giving me and the poor people I keep doing this to a headache!!!

quotes always being with the word "quote" in square brackets.
They always end with "/quote" in square brackets.

Sometimes one end (of the quote box syntax) is missing.
Above I put your quote in a quote and then in a quote.
I wonder how it will look...

And then select it and color it white.
You can use it to put things out in space too. :)

No really, I usually just code the text directly.
If you reply using the "quote" reply button, you'll see the BB code in square brackets.

You can also use the third button (icon) from the right (in the advanced text reply box).
See it? It looks like a dialog box - a speach balloon.
If you hover your mouse over it, it will tell you about quoting.

Then you can select a porton of your text and high-light it. Then click that little icon...
Et voila!

I have tried everything I can think of but nothing has worked. I don't want to keep doing this to people in here but I cannot figure out how to stop it!

I will try to multi-quote this post too.

To see if I can just figure it out by repetition and accidentally happen upon the correct way.

Using the little quote icon, you can copy a post into a word or outlook document and then edit it.
The paste it ino your reply and separate the quotes with multiple boxes.
…Sort of point for point replies.

I tend to use bolding to in my initial editing to keep everything separated.
Then after setting the quote boxes, I go back in and unbold the text.

Did not work-said not 15 characters because it is not counting my reply as a reply and see, it has appeared inside your quote box. It is okay-I do not think I have the mental acuity to get it.

Now hit "submit post"You need to take out the spaces for bothe set of brackets. You got the closing quote, but not the begining one.

Just copy the stuff below the line.
Then paste it into a brand new - clean post
(don't use the quote reply button - but "post reply" at the top.)

Before you click submit--- look at the bracket code and make sure there are no spaces.
Look at the simplicity of the syntax.

LOL
It's just a matter of making sure the opening code for the quote is there - as well as that for the ending of the quote.

One someone gets that concept, the rest is simple.
Now you can you can play with the thisrd icon at top right - the "quote" looking speech baloon thingy.
Hightlight some text and click that icon. Et voila!
A QUOTE...

Then you can highlight everything you want to multi level quote - including the newly generated code brackets - and click the little icon again.

You can just type the code in yourself, once you get the hang of it.

HAHAHA! I did type in between your paragraphs! I hit quote and a box popped up with your post in it. I scrolled down to where I would like to answer and I started typing. But it doesn't say it is a post by me and it doesn't delineate it in any way. In fact, anyone reading it would think that what I said was actually part of what you said! Go back and look at where I did it. In two places I replied - one about tongues and one about grilling and to someone reading it, you would sound like Sybil!

If you want to reply to multiple people, you can go to the one person's post and click reply-with-quote.

Then highlight all the text and copy it.

Then click the back button and go to the other post you want to also reply to...

Now reply-with-quote and paste the first in there - where ever you want.
