Probably around 4 lbs of meat, veggies, dessert and blah. I thought I was going to die... I came home and wow, I think thats the most I've ever eaten at one sitting at any one given time, lol.

Haha, that's why I won't go to a buffet very often. Last time I regretted it for about 2 days.

Same here, there's an incredible pizza buffet that always causes me trouble when I go to it. Between pepperoni rolls, spinach rolls and stromboli (oddly enough, they actually serve very little pizza), I'm usually pretty miserable by the time I'm done.

I'm smoking 3 racks of ribs on Tuesday and plan to eat one all by myself. Plus the peppers I do, potato salad and rootbeer... I should be full by the time I get done eating

Funny buffet story happened to a couple of my friends.
So where we went to college there used to be a Mexican place where you could do an all you can eat buffet. So my friend and his roommate went there and ate until they could not move. Got back to the dorm my friend (will call him A) lifted up his shirt and told his roommate to not even look at his belly for fear that it would explode or something like that. Then for no reason a bunch of stuff just fell out of A's closet. He said "I know God gluttony is a sin but J (his roommate or what we will call his roommate) did it too." BAM! J gets a noise bleed! One that does not stop they went through almost an entire box of tissue and A could not help J because he was on the floor laughing so much.
Since hearing this story I try to not eat too much at the buffets for fear of stuff falling out of my closet or a nasty noise bleed.

Given the world conditions and hunger being rampant even in western countries. eating at a Buffet is gluttony

There's always room for some ice cream. There's not always room for the brownie sundae with all the toppings that I somehow think I can finish off sometimes though...

Here in NY there are not too many buffets. The only one I ever go to is for breakfast at a marriott hotel. They charge about $15.00 for it but it is in a nice hotel. Since they charge that much I tend to eat till I am about to burst. They make omelettes in front of you with about 3 eggs each and any filling you want so I get cheese, bacon and onions. Nonetheless, I also add about a good plateful of bacon as well. When I am done I get the same omelette again with even more bacon. In addition I have orange juice and coffee to the hilt.
I only regret it for about 30 minutes afterward and then I am okay. It lasts pretty much until dinner. Wish I had a Bob's Big Boy closer by. I would probably eat less.
Diner is probably better. Food is good, but I think I few of us eat more at a buffet simply because we feel we are paying for it and try to at least get a good deal out of it. If we didn't, why go?

haha, the buffet I went too costs like $15 as well but we had gift certificate type deals. Also easy on the bacon, I don't want your heart poopin' out

Buffets are God's gift to people like me - those who eat a LOT.
Just don't be a glutton...eat until you're full. Don't over-indulge. I eat until I'm full, but that's still a LOT of food. Buffets lose money right when I pay for the meal.
I've over-stuffed myself once at a Chinese buffet before...I was poopin' bricks for a couple days. That's what I got for being a glutton.

After several trips to China, I've been cured of ever desiring a buffet again.
Yuk.

I can't do buffets except for the weekend breakfast buffet at Golden Corral and I do that one at 7:30 AM (when the buffet starts) because very few people have touched the utensils or messed the food up.

Too bad, we have almost everything to lose, but through our day to day life styles, we make ourselves blind. HOWEVER I don't think everyone who has ever eaten at a buffet has committed gluttony.

MOTC7's Tips on Eating At The Buffet
1. Don't come having starved yourself. You'll only pig out fast and fade quickly.
2. Don't drink Coke, but have water or iced tea. Carbonation takes up valuable space in your stomach.
3. Attire is important. Comfortable, if not, stretchy pants are a good thing. Church attire usually is constrictive and will make you feel full when you could expand another inch or two to get in some chicken fried steak.
4. If they don't stink or are not loud, don't be afraid to f a r t. Gas can make you feel bloated and take up precious food stuffing room. If your farts are loud that day, make sure the place is nice and loud and that you aren't fully seated on the seat in question, or that the seat isn't solid wood as that will carry the sound of your bottom burp and cause undue embarrassment. :D
5. Don't be afraid to excuse yourself to the bathroom and "make room" for more buffet madness.
6. Controlled belching is a must. See above on farting for reasons why.
7. Understand all you can eat is your excuse to stick it to a business for all they got. Make them lose money on you. You'll be blessed for it. :pp
