Do you guys truly believe that some of the people in our lives are heaven sent? That God put them in our lives to teach us things and help us or even love us when there was no one else around to be close to us? I currently am being very sentimental about past friends/teachers that meant so much to me.

Yes, I truly believe that God knows exactly who to put in our paths to further HIS kingdom...You know, sometimes we can hear something from many people, and then, all of a sudden someone else tells us the very same thing and it clicks!!! That is why I pray for God to put the "right Christian" in the path of my unsaved family, that they may truly hear the one Word that change their hearts will allow them to be saved..Thank you Lord!!!

God Bless and have a very "MERRY CHRISTMAS":)

Yes, :agree:and know from experience this to be true. And sometimes we are surprised as to who and when. Ah, that's nice about how you are thinking about your past teachers. I am retired from teaching but hope my students think of me as you do yours and as I do mine..with fond remembrance. My English teacher convinced me in my senior year to attend the university he attended. I did and it changed my life. I know God put him in my life just when I was trying to make my decision.

God bless you..

So, you were a teacher!? That's amazing.

You see...I graduated a year and a half ago in the summer of 2007. I emailed my teacher a little after that and then around the beginning of this year life started to get busy so the contact kind of faded. No emails since January of this year. So, my sister-n-law's sister is a teacher at the same place my teacher was and I was hanging out at her house the other night and she told me that the teacher that taught me got a new position at a school far, far away in the northern part of the state I live in but she forgot the name of the school so I had to research it...and I found him. So...I sent an email yesterday but he hasn't emailed me back. I really wanted to see how he was...he was really such an influential person in my life and he really enriched my high school years. So, I just pray that he does write back. It'd mean a lot.

I don't know if he will.

I do believe God puts people in our lives at the right moment....... I have had that with ministers mostly...... but the greatest example is my husband, who came all the way across the ocean to take care of me..... I am bedridden and severely handicapped and knew not much about the Bible, and God sent me a husband that not only loves me unconditionally but is also a Bibleteacher...... :)

Love you,
Mieke

Yes, I believe some (?all?) people in our lives are truly sent to us by God.

And don't forget that for some people, YOU are the one that has been sent to them! :)

Such an excellent point and helpful reminder to love EVERYONE as much as you can because you don't know what you are to them at that time.

All these posts are great!! Thank you.

As a person in recovery from several sinful addictions. I have been blessed with a great sponsor (he is with Jesus now), a current great mentor, several accountability partners, a wife who I love dearly, two great daughters, and whole bunch of people that there is no doubt God is using in my life. I would also like to add that I am humbled and filled with joy when he picks me (and I answer the bell) to help someone else. There is no doubt he sends people all over.

When I was 17, God put a 16 year old girl in my path. Through faithful prayer and her amazing witness, I was able to see God and accept Jesus as my savior.
I am now transformed. I can't imagine it was anything but God, considering what has happened since then.
Our 20th wedding anniverary will be February 11th, 2009.

When I was in high school I went out for the tennis team. The coach put me with another girl in the 2nd doubles slot and she and I continued as tennis partners until graduation..(in our junior and senior years we were first girl's doubles.)..this girl was a Christian who led me to the Lord. I am so glad I turned out for the tennis team. This happened...over 50 years ago..:pp

When I went to school, this obnoxious fella came into our class and for some reason, our little group liked him enough that we invited him to sit with us and ended up being four peas in a pod.

Eight years later, the very same fella is now a man of God and I am proud to call him my husband.

There are many other such God-appointed people I have had the pleasure to be part of my life. One is a lady who brought me to the Lord and was my mentor for many years. There are many others, of course.

And as much as I want to give shout-outs to those who have been God-appointed blessings, there are also many others who I didn't think were blessings nor did they purposefully impact my life in a positive way, yet God used them, unbeknownst to them, to teach me things and bring me closer to Himself. For those I am grateful as well, as much as the circumstances at the time were less than pleasant. But God is above such things as human affection and can use anyone for His glory.

Absolutely!!!!! When I was in high school [80's], we had a phenomenal youth director named Paula. :pp She was one of those Christians whose light shines like a super nova! God used her in amazing ways. Sad epilogue....she was murdered before I graduated. She spent her dying breaths praying for her murderer. That always floors me. :o
