I was addicted to nicotine for...well...a couple of years. I've tried multiple times to stop, but to no avail.

HOWEVER, this time I just totally quit cold-turkey a little over a week ago. So far no weird effects or anything. I HAVE had the urge a couple of times to either dip or smoke a cigarette, but they were quickly overcome.

I still have 3 more weeks to prove that I can overcome this (it takes about a month for addictions to nicotine to go away). So far so good!

With God as my co-pilot, NOTHING is impossible!

i'll be praying for ya...... my brother had a really tough time quitting too. I quit about 10 years (Apr 98) i had 2 cigarettes at a skynyrd show (sept 98) and never looked back. My thing was that cancer tends to run in my family, so after my uncle jack died it inspired me.

I will also remember you in prayer. Congratulations on the first week:pp:pp:pp... If you can do a week, you can do it forever. Although its been many years, I quit the same way you did... Cold Turkey... I would go out and walk the railroad tracks for miles in order to absorb the withdrawals and calm my nerves.

I still consider it one of the great events of my life, praise the Lord... The Great Escape!

My health kept improving for over a year after that, and smoking would have certainly taken me out by now because of a certain heart glich.

Keep on keepin on, my friend:):):)
