Cellphone Bible for non touch screen (Smartphone)

Hi,

I'm looking for a electronic Cellphone Bible program.
I know and use e-sword on my PC, but Pocket e-sword only works on cellphones/PDA/Smartphones that has a touch screen - Tested and confirmed.

I did install the JAVA "Go Bible" (by Jolon Faichney) and it works, but only for about 5 seconds or so after starting to scroll down, then it just exits the application.

I have a HTC S710 smartphone with Windows Mobile 6. I'm sure it's just a security setting that needs to be changed for this "Go Bible" to work longer that 5 seconds, but I did change every single setting I possible can and it still doesnt work for longer that 5 seconds.

Does anyone know of any other Smartphone/PDA Bible application that will work on a Windows Mobile 6 smartphone without the touch screen?

I had Verizon service for a while (but then my work assigned me a phone & is paying for the service.... so I've since dropped my Verizon.. LOL!)
BUT... while using Verizon, I had the KJV Bible program on my phone.

I could pull up the entire OT and NT right from my pocket!

There may be other providers who have the same type of program..... although TMOBILE does not. (At least not that I've discovered.)

Good morning everyone,

My problem with the cell phone Bible has been solved by 50%. I still used v 2.2.0 which I transferred from my previous phone to the new one. After searching for a long while I found the newest version (2.2.6) and installed it directly via Wap to my new phone and it now works – But this is only the KJV. Now I still need to try the Afrikaans (my mother language) version (1933/1953), but it has been removed from the webpage (I don’t want the newer translation), so again after a long while of searching I found the newer version of the Afrikaans Bible (1933/1953) but it’s only v 2.2.4 – In one of the google groups – I couldn’t download it with my cell phone from there so I downloaded it with my desktop. I will take it to work tomorrow and synchronize it to my cell phone there and install it and see if the Afrikaans one which is v 2.2.4 is ok.

There is an Afrikaans bible also, but it’s cut up in pieces – This doesn’t help when searching the whole Bible for something…

Just to let you all know who might be interested, v 2.2.4 of the Afrikaans Go Bible still has the same issue. I was informed that it's the rules of the Bibleassosiation that the Go Bible may not be distrubuted as a whole in Afrikaans anymore... It's cut up in about 5 pieces - Old Testament in 4 and then the New Testament.

Have you tried using pocket e-Sword? You can download it for free at www.e-sword.net

You can also download several free Bibles, and several paid-for Bibles too.

You can sms Bible to 31990 and you can download the English Bible for R40 on your java compatable cellphone.
