Hi - I'm in the process of building a website for my poetry (and I don't know much about building websites at all!).

I have subscribed to Tripod since I don't want any ads and pop-ups to result from my site. The problem is that it seems Yahoo (and other search engines) charge per hit if you want to add your website to their search engines. Is it only Tripod, or do other companies have the same problems? Is there a way I can publish my website for free on Yahoo, Google and the other 'biggies'?

Please help !!

God bless.

With no advertising. See http://webnet77.com/free-christian-web-hosting.html

Thank you so much, BDH.

There will be no advertising on my site - only poems, and maybe some articles on Bible topics.

I had a look at the link, but since I don't know what a domain is I will ask my husband to have a look at it. From what I can understand it seems good.

Thanks again, and God bless.
B.

Hosting your website is one thing. Submitting your website to Search Engines (SE) is another story.
If your using a Free Hosting Provider, then pop ups are part of the deal when signing up with them.

Hosting is very cheap, you can find host for your website for a small fee and not deal with pop ups, and most hosting companies will assist you "FOR FREE" with uploading and publishing your site.

Now SE submission for your website is also FREE! The only reason you might want to do the Pay-Per-Click (PPC) is if you wish to obtain top ranking in SE's, But you can obtain this for free also.

Here is a link to help you learn how to submit your website to Search Engines FOR FREE. http://www.google.com/webmasters/

Feel free to ask more questions if you need help.
I'm new here but have a few years experience in web mastering, I'll be more than happy to assist in what little I know.

Good Luck with your site :)

hi. regarding your question, you can try the site http://www.mysql.com/ of where, first, you'll need to acquaint yourself with their corresponding tutorial 'PHP/MySQL Tutorial' so as to get the relevant starters' basics on how to go about it.

wishing you the best, alrite?

I appreciate the info about the Search Engine, and will ask my husband to have a look at it for me.

If you want, you can introduce yourself at the 'Introductions Forum'.

Thanks A, but I already have a host provider. What I wasn't sure about was how to add my existing site to the search engines for free.

Thanks again, and God bless.

wishing you the best, alrite?Actually, MySQL.com is a highly technial site where developers go to learn more about MySQL, get the latest MySQL executables and download the manuals. It's definitely not the kind of site your average site owner hangs out at.

Thanks so much for all your help in this matter. Webnet77.com have accepted and published my website, and it's also managed to crawl onto Yahoo and Google (my hubby registered it with them).

Thanks again, and God bless.
