What is up with the needing to spread reps around before giving someone more reps? How many do you need to spread around. I know that there were at least 3-4 spread around before I went back to the same poster. How many before we can re-give?
Thanks in advance.

The restrictions are something like, 10 reps per day, and no more than one rep to the same person per 10 you give out. So if you rep someone you have to rep 9 other people before you can rep them again.
I got a little weary of being unable to rep a really good post because I needed to spread the love, so now if I see a post that moves me, or makes me laugh, or I jsut want to give a little encouragement, I give someone a rep. I'd rather be told I've given too much rep than I have to spread the love more.

Tango,
I don't think that is a bad problem to have. I run out too. :)
I do wonder about the threads that are posted where people post to ask for 'rep'.
Seems to me like it undermines the purpose of the system?

There's a reps day thread that's a bit of a giggle, but the rep system isn't something to take too seriously. Better to think about the fellowship than arbitrary points. Different people give different amounts of reps at a time, so if someone who's been here forever reps you it's "worth" many times what a new member can give.
Let the reps build up and don't worry about them, you can't trade them for anything :)

No, I agree. Kind of like post count the 'rep' system really means very little. Some people do see the post count as some kind of 'rank' on forums which is unfortunate.
Some have a high post count after they have contributed much... for others it only identifies them as a windbag. :D Of course you can be a windbag with 196 (or is it 197?) posts in just over 2 years.... ;)

You know, on various Boards, we see reps, gifts, blessings, etc. All supposedly in the name of Christ. Really? What are reps and blessings for other than to make man feel good? Really?
How about letting Christ give the blessings. Okay?

If it bothers you, you can always turn your reputation off.

How about letting Christ give the blessings. Okay? That is the purpose of reps on this board.
When a member posts something that ministers to you, by repping them you are informing them that they have been used by the Lord to minister to you.
I know for me, it is a blessing to see a rep and a comment informing me that something I wrote in a post was an answer to a prayer, confirmation, uplifting, etc.
Christ works though all His servants and if it's as simple as being used to post an atta-boy rep and comment... why deny those blessings the Lord is using you to pass on?
