Does anyone here have any experience taking (and most importantly) kicking methadone?
If so, my question is how did you do it? How did you make it through the worst times?
Thanks :)

Methadone can be addictive or is sometimes used to kick the habbit of herion use, and suppresses withdrawals for between 24 to 36 hours.
Depending if it is an addiction or medicational need I suppose?
Do you know someone being addicted, or are you addicted. You do't have to answer, this will just help me with some clarity on how to answer you!

Depending on how long methadone was taken and the dosage taken. If this was taken as a drug for a long period, the person will cold turkey. If the drug was taken for pain, the dosage should have been decreases gradually and the person should not cold turkey.
If this is a drug withdrawal, this should be supervised by a doctor.
Hope that this information helps.:hug::hug:

My sister was on methadone for migraines and other pain related problems and had to quit cold turkey. She says it wasn't very pleasant but not as bad as she had it set up to be. She was on the drug for about 4 years also.
