This is just so cool that I had to share it!
As regulars/ friends will know I have 5 sons, 3 of which are autistic. The youngest, Caleb, who was 4 at Christmas, had started to climb over the stair gates. This has led to a few low level incidents, a couple in the kitchen.
Then a friend at the school came up with the perfect solution.
A Dog Gate
It sounded a little crazy. We've never had a dog so didn't know what these internal dog gates were like.
Well the answer is Exactly like a toddlers stair gate but much higher!
Think normal stair gate. Then taller stair gate for bigger children. Then add another foot?
For those of us with autistic children this is just wounderful. We have bolts high up on doors, but hall ways are a problem. I hope this helps others. SofTy.
