:eek::eek: I was sitting here doing a post on the board and my anti-virus popped up and said I had multiple viruses. Then they just kept coming and kept coming...more and more...I was freaking out! I didn't know what to do. Then I closed IE as I had that browser open hoping someone could help me with my autonomic security updates which I have on another post here. So I don't know if the viruses came in through IE because I had it opened and haven't been able to do the security update...:( I closed it and the viruses stopped being listed...so that makes me think they were coming in through IE. Normally I use Fire Fox browser and not IE that often. Anyway when I tried to have them removed a pop up window came up saying if I did a forced removal it might make my system unstable and it could crash..then the box wouldn't go off! I ended up with 27 trojan horse!!!! Then I got some removed but then it said it couldn't remove them all because it couldn't find the files..I don't know what to do. My mom's husband is coming over to see what he can to help...:help::help::help:

Ok my mom's husband came over and tried to get rid of the rest of the viruses..kept saying the files couldn't be found (to get rid of them)..am running the anti virus again...just ran it over night..at this point I don't why I got them where they came from..or what to do..still can't get the windows security alert to work either...won't turn on..
Anyway if I disappear and am not around for days...my computer probably died or was ruined or something by these viruses...I hope not! :(

I use freeware from Avast, which quickly sorts out all viruses

Here is recommendations three and four.
Both I and my church use Avast Freeware.
And it is as good / better then many
of the commercial programs out their.
And we (me and my church's IT) recommend it to everyone we know.

Thanks all.I am using Internet Explorer which I hate..because the virus has infected firefox browers. I don't have my spell check thing on here so excuse my bad spelling. I have a good antivirus scanner..also free.its AVG. I have a virus that attached itself to all the trackingcookies n firefox, that is why I had so many showing up. Ran the antivirus again during the evening...which is how saw it was on firefox. My antivirus gets rid of it, but apparently not totally as it keeps coming back. I checked the logs and this has been showing up since the 29th but since I run it at night I didn't know it. I am currently running my free Ad-Aware and its causing the words I type on it to skip certain letters. grrrrrrrrrrrr.
I am hoping it will for good clear out the virus so it doesn't keep coming back like this on firefox. After running the anti-virus again last evening, I let it come on at midnight its usual time...this time it showed one, not two main trojans...but as I said all the tracking cookies were infected too. Its like its not fully getting rid of the virus. grrrrrrrrrrrr.
So anyway...just waiting on the ad-ware scanner to finish then I will see how much that helps.

Ok I am back on firefox...the adware found some malware on it and got rid of those...and quite a few infected files..:( So then I opened firefox to use their spyware thing to get rid of all the tracking cookies on it. I am now doing a limited scan on program files on my computer. Since all of this twice now a new window has forced its way on (nothing I clicked on) to a site that say that link no longer works. Its URL is this: http://67.201.36.16/nolink.html
Don't click on it! I don't know what the is or where it came from..will see if it keeps coming up...if it does, I know that is a viruses causing that. This is such a mess! :B:B I rarely get any viruses at all and now suddenly I am bombarded with them..:( and I have no idea why...

I think the problem is I can't get the windows security to open to accept updates and without that its allowing viruses to get on the computer. I try to get it to stay on automatic updates but I get this error message: Error 1058:The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.
I have gone to Microsoft website and tried to manually download updates but it says its not turned on...has me go through all these steps to turn it on but it won't stay on...goes back to disabled. Read through all there FAQ but my problem wasn't listed or no help...am now on their message board looking for help other wise if I call it will cost big bucks.. I did not disabled this service to start with...I have no idea why it did that and checked all the services connected with it (that it told me to check to make sure are on) and they are. So anyone have any ideas! :help:

Ok I found a link on their mirosoft site that said they would not charge for their software related issues...so I emailed them and gave them the error message I was getting when I tried to open the security alerts. So just waiting now for them to respond. I hope the problem is easy to solve. I let them know I am also getting hit with many viruses, malwares and ad wares...whether its because this is down, I don't know for sure...but it said on their sites that could happen if this sercruity wasn't working. When I get this worked out I will post what I did so it hopefully will help others with the same problem. Oh and I figured out why I was getting websites popping up for no reason..I was on IE browser and the pop-up option was off for some reason... So I got that back on. I rarely use IE ..when I am on it, its for short periods of time. So maybe I just never set it to block pop up's...

This morning there was an email from Microsoft about how to fix my computer...she said my Automatic Update might be infected with a virus...and directed me to this site: http://www.superantispyware.com/
I selected the 15 day free trial for the full version as only it showed this: Automatic Updates check for program and definition updates every 8 hours.
Now the free version says that can be done manually but I thought why not get the full version for free? So I downloaded that. By the way my normal antiviruse ran over night and showed no viruses or anything...this SUPERAntiSpyware found 112 infections, viruses and adwares.. And that wasn't even on the full computer scan..which I will do next. Anyway so I got rid of all of those...only took 28 minutes to scan compared to my free antivirals that takes over three hours...
Once I got rid of those I tried turning on my updates again...took a little bit but it came on! :bounce::pp Without it on my computer was getting all sorts of viruses and junk...:(
So now I am currently doing all the mirosoft updates for my computer I wasn't able to do. The SUPERAntiSpyware has also blocked someone once already trying to get onto my computer.
I am SO relieved to be getting this all taken care of...
God bless

I had an infection of the Virtumondo Virus earlier this year that did that. It actually went into windows and replaced the weblink for the automatic updates with a bogus one. After that it would not update and kept giving me the same message. I use spybot to remove tracking stuff. The people there are very helpful and will help you for free if you want to try it. They walked me thru manually deleting it since spybot would pick it up but could not delete it itself.
