Bible Standards for a good husband in Christ

I am studying & searching on the subject of Successful Marriage for the book(s) I am writing...visit my blog at http://giddyh.blogspot.com/

I have found bible standard for a good wife in Proverbs 31:10-31, but having difficulties to find bible standards for a good husband in Christ.

Can anyone help me, please?

lol, isn't that true in real life? Job and Joseph are the only men who I see has this standard. Hezakiah also as he only had one wife and though they were separated, he took her back and forgave her and they had children.

Ephesians 5
22 - Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 - For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body.
24 - But as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives ought to be to their husbands in everything.
25 - Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her,
26 - so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word,
27 - that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless.
28 - So husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself;
29 - for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ also does the church,
30 - because we are members of His body.
31 - FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER AND SHALL BE JOINED TO HIS WIFE, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH.
32This mystery is great; but I am speaking with reference to Christ and the church.
33 - Nevertheless, each individual among you also is to love his own wife even as himself, and the wife must see to it that she respects her husband.

I'm afraid it would be a short book if you kept it scriptural. As with most truth it is simple. Paul was concerned that some would be led from the simplicity of Christ. Too many words. How can we improve on God's word?

Any way. The perfect husband (whom I am not, but have now discovered the truth of it) is. . . . . . . . The Christ.

Husbands; (Really, you husbands out there) Love your wives in the same way Christ loved the Church. Give yourself for her (your wife). Husband are you prepared to die for your disobedient, nagging, spendthrift wife?

Well Jesus died for a prideful, macho, womanizing, daydreaming loafer.

If you've been looking for a ministry, it's been there all along. Give up your rights to yourself -- Though being in the form of God He thought it not robbery to be equal with God, but made himself of no reputation.....humbled himself unto the cross. Die to self, then you'll begin to be a Godly husband and you'll begin to be happy. (I'm laughing on regular basis now, which was absent a long time in my life. Most of the funny stuff is my reflection)

That's about it.

Paul covered it in a few words. Really not much of a book in something that simple. Ya think?
