View Full Version : Sharing My Journey Through and Out of Depression

Hi Everyone, I'm new to this forum.

Late last year I began a new blog, (http://www.christianforums.net/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=35238#)in which I use extracts from my diary back in the early 1990s, to share how the Lord gently lead me out of one of the blackest pits we can fall into, clinical depression.

It breaks my heart when I see others suffering in the same way, bewildered, confused, not knowing where to turn. My hope is that my blog can help others stuck in that dark place to find encouragement, help, and perhaps a way back to living a life full of hope and Christ's presence.

I do not profess to have any specific qualifications, I am merely sharing my testimony through the use of my diary entries and commentary, to show how the Lord lead me to recovery.

The Blog title is - When I Am Weak, I Am Strong
http://cornerstonethefoundation.blogspot.com/

Oh, and I guess the blog is best read from the bottom up.

God bless

Great to meet another user of Blogspot.

And thanks for the feedback on the header photo. The photo is of Steavenson Falls, Marysville. I visited there twice last September, once for a holiday (which was when I took that photo) and once for a church camp. Sadly, the town and much of the surrounding area has just been devastated by the Victorian bushfires on Feb 7th.

God bless

:) I did read half of the entries , wow some really awesome stuff contained in there :pp

I sometimes myself battle depression I just never had information about what to do , it comes and goes
being depressed is much different than just having a blue day . depression can be debilitating if one does not stay focused on Jesus and  is good medicine

Hi Elijah's Mantle,
Thanks so much for dropping by the blog. Back when I had severe depression I had the same problem you've mentioned, so little information about how it worked, what caused it, and how to recover. Once I found out that info, wow, what a difference.

Did you see the posts on my blog,
http://cornerstonethefoundation.blogspot.com/2009/02/understanding-depression-to-cast-off.html
and
http://cornerstonethefoundation.blogspot.com/2009/02/breaking-fear-cycle.html

Those two posts deal with that topic in detail.

And you are so right about keeping our eyes focuses on Jesus. Just like Peter taking his eyes off Jesus while walking on the water caused him to sink, taking my eyes off Jesus while depressed sent me sinking too.

God bless :)
