I just became a member and wanted to say hello!
I'm a wife and mom who just hit 40, and my husband and I love to ride motorcycles. I love to sing, and I can't fully express how grateful I am that Jesus turned my life around!
My testimony:
I was a very troubled child growing up, and had many bad things happen to me. I became a very rebellious teenager who drank and did drugs, and got pregnant at 17. I met my husband when I was 20 and my daughter was 2 1/2. He knew God and had come to Christ as a child. I didn't. After we were married, I became pregnant, and got sicker and sicker with each passing month. About three weeks before I was due, I was really ill and went to the hospital. They found out that my blood oxygen level was 32%, (a dead body has 21%) so they induced labor. My body cratered with my lungs collapsing because of the stress of labor, and I ended up on life support for two months. I was put basically into a medically induced coma with morphine, and I was on paralyzing drugs to keep me from pulling out the breathing tube and chest tubes. After those two months, I spent almost a third month in the hospital for recovery and rehabilation to learn how to walk again, hold a toothbrush, etc.
While I was on life support, there came a night when I knew without a shadow of a doubt that I was dying. As the thought hit me, I saw a very bright light. In the light a figure appeared. It was Jesus. He told me I had two choices. I could either die in the state I was in, with my heart where it was, and with my life having been what it was, or, I could choose life and be reborn, but I had to make a choice. I chose life. After that, my recovery began. It was a slow process, but it happened. Months after this my husband and I were talking and I told him what happened that night in the hospital. His jaw dropped. He left the room and came back with a drawing of me in my hospital bed with Jesus standing at the foot of the bed talking to me. We figured out that he had been drawing that picture at the same time that Jesus was literally speaking to me. I'm so thankful that Jesus loves me and came to me even at the very last minute. I would like to say that I hope this helps someone who has an unsaved loved one who is in the hospital and is unconcious or unable to communicate. Jesus could be talking to them at anytime. Don't lose hope.
On a side note:
I lost a lot of my hearing as a side effect of this, and the doctors told me that because of the tracheotomy and because of the hearing loss I'd never be able to sing again. Despite both of those happenings, God has blessed me with the ability to keep singing. I give Him all the Glory!!!
May God bless you and keep you all!
