I am unashamedly posting to increase my post number to have more user privileges.

And replying to it to increase the number,

I believe a Christian should always be honest.
And i honestly don't know why this board has so many restrictions built into it.
I have used many forums and never ran in to so many restrictions.

Just a little bit of info...... this doesn't help your postcount at all....... the posts in this forum will be deleted periodically and you'll lose the postcount again......

God Bless.

Thanks for the info, I really enjoy these boards and the folks on it and in due time my count will go up on it's own.
I guess I should not have tired this.
I am still trying to learn the idiosyncrasies of this board.

The FAQ's are somewhat generic to the service that this board was created on and many of the original settings seem to have been changed when it was set up.
For instance in the FAQ's it says to just click on a users name to see their profile but when I do it says I don't have permission to do it, even when I click my own profile. Is that also because I have not posted enough?
I assume so.
Thanks for the help.
And sorry if I offended anyone.
Tom

It's ok...... and yes, you can't see profiles due to the posts/time rule either....

God Bless.

The restriction are to prevent spammers from abusing the board...as a Christian board we get attacked alot by spammers and those that want to upset us...:cool: We don't usually see this happen because the moderators are so fast they get things deleted quickly. :)

Thank you so much for the info!
I really appreciate it.

@moonglow
That really makes a lot of sense.
I have actually seen some Christian yahoo groups destroyed by people getting in them that were not Christians and starting arguments etc...on purpose that ended up in lots of long time members leaving the list.
You have a great board here and I am really glad you protect it.
thanks for the clarifications.

@Miepie
On a personal level,
I notice a lot of folks on here with messages in their avatar to "pray for miepie" is that you, and if so and if it is not too personal how could I pray for you? :pray:

Thank you,
Tom

chal> Hi Tom, I'm Miepie's husband and she asked me to explain. She has RSD (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy) also called PTD (Post Traumatic Dystrophy). This is a link to some info on it;

Miepie is in stage 3. We appreciate the prayers. Thanks for your willingness to pray with us. We want you to know that it's a two way street. While you're praying for Miepie, we will be praying for you also. If there is something in particular that you need prayer for, don't hesitate to let us know, so I can add it to my prayer list.

I am a little familiar with the disorder, I'm an RN and have taken care of a patient at the hospital where I work with it. But it was a while back and I don't remember all that much about it, but the webpage you linked was helpful.

Most importantly I will be trusting the Lord for her healing, the one thing I have learned as a nurse is medical science is much more limited then most folks think even with all the progress we have made.

I guess you could pray for my family and I and for our transition in the next year when we are going to be moving across the state and that the Lord's will be done in our lives as we follow Him.

The Lord's blessings,
Tom

I don't do much anymore to protect the board other then pray for it...no longer a moderator so I am not running around deleting bad posts...but I used to do that and so did chal. I think everyone takes their turn at this if they hang around long enough. The worse stuff I saw was attacks on God, Jesus..even Mary! Some truly nasty stuff...plus alot of porn pictures..just made me sick and I couldn't handle it anymore so I quit as a mod. People don't realize how very bad it can get and what the mods have to deal with to protect the rest of us on a daily basis. Its some tough work...plus moderating posts and debates, etc... plus people joining them PMing every member in order to send spam...:rolleyes: That is why Private Messaging privileges take awhile to get into also.

Anyway I am glad you are here. :) I saw chal answered you about miepie.

God bless

chal> Yes, I know what you mean about medical limitations. We have come to a point where there is not much more they can do for her. She has reached the ceiling on pain meds, so we are trying a diet that is supposed to help with that, but that usually takes a long time to see any results even if it does work. Prayer is what is keeping us going.

We will surely pray for you and your family. I have recently started a prayer journal (due to the fact that my computer has more memory than I do) and you have been added to it.
