I was wondering if one of you technical types could help guide me through something. Last week I preached in my church (I'm not the pastor but fill in at the pulpit from time to time) several people have expressed an interest in hearing the sermon. Today our sound man gave me 2 CD's containing my sermon and I was wondering if you could guide me to how to post them online so I can give a link so people who are interested can listen. BTW, I do not have a web page of my own and no real interest in starting one. I have posted the text of the sermon in my blog and if I get it up I'll probably put the link there. Thanks for the help.

Do the CDs have MP3 files on them, or are they the sort of thing you'd put in a regular CD player?
If they have MP3 files on them, you should be able to just upload the MP3 file like any other file. If it's an audio CD you'll need to rip it (convert the audio to MP3 format) - something like Windows Media Player can do that for you. If you're using a Mac or Linux or similar there's almost certainly a comparable tool.

I'm pretty sure its a standard CD file but I already know how to use the windows media player to rip to my computer (I have over 28 hours of classical music alone on my computer). Converting it to mp3 shouldn't be to hard to figure out, though I haven't done it before.

Hey CW,
You'll definitely need to convert to MP3 since CD audio files are gargantuan. Even so, have you figured out a way to distribute the file to those who want it? The files will still be big enough for most email systems to choke on if you send it that way.

No idea on how to distribute it. My thought was if I could find somewhere to post it then post a link where to find it. However, no idea where that would be.

Yeah... that'll really depend on how big the MP3's come out. Let us know how large the files are and maybe we can come up with some hosting ideas for you.

I've ripped it to my computer but not sure that it's an mp3 file. It came out between 18 and 19 minutes. BTW, I do have Windows Media Player but wasn't able to figure out how to convert to mp3

Download this - http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html -- it can convert any format to any other format and it works very well. (be warned, it's a maze to find the actual download link)
