I just started using email addresses that I set up with our website, www.stmarkglastonbury.org (http://www.stmarkglastonbury.org). I have entered the email settings as described in cpanel. Each time I first open Outlook (2007) I get a message:

"The server you are connected to is using a security certificate that cannot be verified. The target principal name is incorrect. Do you want to continue using this server?

I select yes and Outlook downloads the email fine and continues to access email without a warning until I close Outlook and restart it again.

I use the incoming mail server mail.stmarkglastonbury.org with ssl and I'm using my ISP(port 995) smtp server for outgoing mail.

How do I get rid of this annoying message?

You will only get this if you use SSL POP. You have two options:

a. disable SSL and use regular POP (it's a lot faster anyway and there is no real need to use SSL)

b. You cannot use your domain name for SSL POP. It has no SSL certificate. You need to use the servers host name -- esther.tld0.net in your case.

You will find more information here http://webnet77.com/secure-email.html

Thanks, that was easy. No more warning.

But if I want to use SSL the instructions say host.hostname.com. Can you tell me what exactly how that's supposed to read? host.esther.tld0.net ?

host.hostname.com = esther.tld0.net (you count the number of periods (".")
