hello patrons.

for nearly 7 months, i have transformed into a new creature, since leaving the catholic religion. i did it because i felt that it was keeping me lukewarm with my faith and always had some odd feelings towards the faction.

im independent and have been studying the Bible in full gear, determined to learn new lessons every day. but i feel now that ive "rehabbed" myself to the point where i am faithfully strong, and now desire a church to belong to. PROBLEM IS, upon investigation, i find critical flaws that prevent me from joining the ones that ive looked to. the calvinism church and its pre-chosen ideals dont work for me, the seventh day adventists are a group thats okay, but its easy to bump into culty groups, and well, you get the drift.

does anyone know of christian religions that are scripture-heavy and cult-free? its time to come off the bench.

thanks!

I don't know what to recommend you, but I can offer up a prayer for you.

Lord, I thank you dearly for this person's salvation that you have delivered them from the Catholic church; that You have given him a hunger for Your Word. Please help him find a good holy church to help him grow, to give him a place where he feels he can belong. Thank you Lord! In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Yeh! There are errors or "flesh" in every church and if you have decernment and are knowledgeable of what God's Word says you can soon see flaws in the denomination or pastor/minister.

Do you settle for safety in beliefs for spiritual deadness? Sometimes its a give and take.

I have been in a wide spectrum of churches and a couple of cults because my decernment was on empty.

Even churches within the same denomination vary from church to church.

Don't be a church-hopper.

May the Lord lead you and bless you walk with him.

Oh yeh! One more thing, Keep your eyes on Jesus and not on men, men will let you down, but He will never. :)

Bee, the church.

Follow Jesus above all else and you will be joined with others doing the same.

Go to www.sermonaudio.com where you can listen to sermons online to find out what is taught at a certain church without having to go there. Perhaps you can find something in your area through that site.

The Calvinistic POV can be tough. I'd recommend a church affiliated with the AOG.

The most important thing is to make sure that the church you find is true to God's word and preaches the Trinity with Jesus as the True Lord and Savior. There will always be other issues and items for disagreement, unfortunately that is our sinful nature coming through!

Ask friends who are involved in a church if you can attend with them and try some different options. Pray for God to direct you in your search.

Beth Moore once wrote in one of her books that all church's have what she calls "heart issues" and "rib issues." The HEART are facts that are the "meat" of Christianity - things no person should ever compromise on. The RIB portion in her analogy is on things that are important to YOU and to other people, but it's not what is going to get you into Heaven or not. For example: Reading the KJV only Bible - some people are very possessive about this and God bless them, but to me, that's a RIB ISSUE.

My point being - find a church where they preach/teach/practice TRUE heart issues and if they disagree with you on rib issues - well............ Pray about it. God will lead you to the church where you belong.

I'll pray for you!
