What kind of file ext. for avatar's?

I am trying to upload an avatar, but I keep getting this prompt.
This is not a valid image file.
I've try JPEG Bitmap, JPEG 2000, what will it take.

You could check out the FAQs click (http://bibleforums.org/forum/showthread.php?t=37652) about the avatar as well

Remember: your avatar has to be no greater than 100 (width) x 150 (height) pixels...
