So it's been a while since I have posted anything on here.

A lot has gone on this year...lots of stress and lots of issues.

So, I have these issues and I have an unhealthy way of coping. I eat a lot. I've always enjoyed food, but it's become a way of dealing with my emotions and I have gained about 15 lbs. since February due to stress and emotions. I am already on the heavier side.

I need prayer. Please talk to me/pray.

Thanks for listening.

Sister Kelly,
Your pain is clear. The fact that you realize that your eating is a symptom
of your stress load, these are very hard times to deal with.

Get out of your house, get around those who bring you joy, volunteer at woman's shelter, in seeking to help others you will find help for yourself.

Do not run from your pain, sit quietly, see your pain for what it is, where it comes from, and what it will take to remove it from you.

Pray for strength, and it will be given, the Lord will never fail you, for you are his most precious child.

I wish you peace.

Like physical pain, which can cause us to seek help from a doctor, so likewise, stress can cause us to seek the heart of God. So stress can be a good thing and used of the Lord to bring us back to Him. Mary has chosen that good part which shall not be taken away from her - that good part? sitting at the feet of Jesus loving him.

If you want a faith lift, let me give you one.
I have a weight limit and about a month ago I hit it. Now I believe the Bible teaches us things we sometimes overlook. I am talking about fasting. When I hit my limit I go on a three day fast. When I fast I just take in liquids like fruit juices. After the fast I have my wife put me on a diet. I start out by eating fruit during the day and in the evening I have what my wife calls no point soup, which is made up of vegetables. I do this for the remainder of the week. Then I just cut back on my intake of fatty foods and the pounds just start coming off. In two week I lost 15 pounds and from that point on I start dropping about 1 to 2 pounds a week. All the time I do this I get out and walk and stay very active. I am 70 and in very good health because I believe God want us to take good care of the body He gave us.
Once I start doing this I feel very good about myself and it really give me a faith lift knowing God’s Word is the best guide we can use when dealing with any problems in life.
Doing this is not easy, but it is very rewarding. God wants to bless you and He gives us one another to help with that blessing. I hope you consider what I am saying and God bless.

Repent! stop eating so much or at least try to offset it with exercise

Food is my sin of choice that I delight in. It's stronghold was so tight on me a few years ago I feared for my life....literally.

Eating too much or starving one's self is just as sinful as killing, stealing, homosexuality, etc.....

You realize it's an issue. I agree with the poster who said REPENT. It also means to STOP DOING IT. I also know from experience it is easier said than done.

I would like to make one point about this that might help you:

When you're stressed out - you turn to food, right? (I used to also.) Well, instead of turning to God, like we should, turning to something else is now our god. That means that food has become an idol. Anything we put ahead of God is idol worship.

When I started thinking of a Buffet Restaurant as an idol worshiping center and how I was sacrificing my health to the gluttony god, it started to weigh on my emotions. Somehow it simply didn't even sound good to eat like that anymore.

This sinful temptation to overeat will always be with me. It comes and it goes, but it's never completely GONE. I still have to pray and beg God to deliver me from wanting to eat a whole plate of homemade cookies. Because if I didn't let God control me, I would eat the whole plate. Plus more.

I lost 80 lbs in a year. I did it by simply asking God how I'm supposed to eat. Not everyone loses weight the same way - so what worked for me might not work for you. We all have different bodies.

I'm praying for you......because I know how hard this is. God bless you.

1st Cor. 6:12 "All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any."
Any addiction is sin, and can become an idol. When I gave my life to Christ I was a smoker. (4 packs a day), at at one time I quit cigarettes and turn to cigars. When I got up to 25 cigars a day I went back to cigarettes. I had a very bad addiction. It has been almost 30 years now since I smoked. It was not easy but it can be done. I didn't use any patches or gum but I leaned on my Lord and him alone and believe me I prayed a lot and drew very close to Him. It worked and it can work for you too.
Like I said in an earlier post, I am on a diet right now. It is not easy when all you see are ads about food and temptation is all around you, but remember Christ will strengthen you if you just let Him.
Don't give in to the Devil, the world or the flesh. They are all enemies.
