Invisible? What does that mean when the light turns from green to red? How does a person become invisible?

If you go to Edit Options, you can check that first box and then no one will be able to see that you are online. Your green light will go out.

When the light turns red the person is invisible. The idea is that they are invisible, but anyone with over 1000 posts can see them anyway.

Invisibility is a useful thing to have if you want to hide from newer users but it's not complete invisibility.

Why would anyone wnat to hide from new users? I mean,unless you are a mod what purpose does it serve?

I often wondered that when I walk into a room where the discussion quickly changes. I wish I knew how to be invisibel so I hear what really goes on

I guess if a new user latches onto you and always wants to talk you can hide so it's up to you if they know you are there.

It's not something I've ever felt the need to do myself, to be honest. But then I've never had anything happen on a forum that I'd want to hide from.

Oh Ok.....You explained it very well. I choose to remain visible. Just thought the red light was cool looking.
