I just noticed something. People who have been following my posts ujp until now know that I have been addicted to pornography for quite a time now. And while I know I have to stop, and even know HOW to stop, I can't control myself when I'm faced with it. You know?
Like, I can overcome sinful lusts when I think them, but when faced with them, it's like I don't care, like I love God less than what I'm seeing.
I've prayed to be repulsed by pornography and the ilk, but to no avail.
Thought and prayers appreciated.

Traphouse... have you discussed this "can't control myself" with your pastor?

I have no pastor. I've done the whole nine yards, sword of the spirit, etc.
I've gotten to the point where I feel like I'm mocking God.

Find a pastor who not only believes in spiritual warfare but also has a Deliverance Ministry that operates in his church. Allow him to counsel you and don't hold anything back.
I did when I was first counseled and until I confessed everything was a Dteam able to remove the demons that had authority in me.

The devil likes to wrap everything in a nice looking package with a bow on it.
Did you know that the majority of men and women who are currently involved in the porn industry are doing so to support horrible drug addictions?
Did you know the number of people throughout the history of the porn industry who have contracted serious STD's, which in some cases brought about their own death?
Did you know the number of deaths caused through drug overdose that was funded and even supplied by the porn industry to these men and women?
This is not to even mention the spiritual deaths that this industry is causing in millions of people across the globe.
This added to the mass number of marriages that have been ruined through the porn industry.
You should hear some of the testimonies of those who were once trapped in the porn industry who have now given their lives to the Lord Jesus Christ. The perceptions that many have of the porn industry are highly misguided. It's not all glitz and glamor. It is riddled with nothing but heartache and death.
What's to love about porn? It's only going to kill you.

I've memorized verses and know the facts, it's just like none of these things matter when faced with the real article... I feel like I'm losing my soul.
The thing is, everyone's speaking about how addictions are a crutch. Crutch for what? I'm not scared or angry when I look, I'm not even lonely. But I feel evil, I need help

Jesus said the key to freedom is truth . . .
Do you know what these Scriptures mean?
John 8:31-36
Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” They answered Him, “We are Abraham’s descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can You say, ‘You will be made free’?” Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.

If you were at my house and you had access to a computer in my living room in front of everyone, to watch internet porn and I was, there and your parents were there and your pastor was there and all your friends were there and their families too, would you be able to control yourself? Why or why not?
If you can exercise self-control in the presence of people you respect, then you can control it. You're simply choosing not to when you're by yourself, for whatever reason. That reason is yours to figure out.
Pornography is disrespect across the board. To women. To men. To God. To our bodies. To our minds. To our emotions. To our perspective on healthy sex. To our wallets and economic well-being. To our kids. That's somebody's daughter/sister/niece/granddaughter you're watching, and somebody's son/cousin/brother/nephew/grandson. What if these people were related to you? Would you watch them do these things? These are all real people doing these acts. With disrespect happening all over the place, towards everyone involved. People exploiting each other for all sorts of reasons (money, control, you name it). You're not just hurting yourself. You're perpetuating something that is exploiting and destroying lives around the globe, ignited by the pit of hell for the sole reason of destroying people with it.
Just FYI. :)
