Not sure if this is common but i thought id ask. So heres the situation. I take showers regulerly but when i clean my rear theres some feces in the rear so i clean it out but some gets on the shower tub (where you stand) so i asssumed it was germ free after water goes on the spot and i didn't think it was a problem ive been doing this for years now and haven't really seen it as being a problem or being a bad thing but now that i think about it, it may be a unhegenic thing to do. I assumed that when i used soap to wash my self or when others wash them self it wouldn't matter since it was the shower. So i am asking if i should tell the people i live with or does it matter? and if i should clean the tub how should i do so? and whats the proper way to clean the rear with out this happening again?

1) Please define "in your rear". Are you talking about in your crack or literally in your rear?
2) Poop cannot be washed. It is always a health risk. It has nasty, mean bacteria in it.
3) The shower can be washed with plenty of soap and warm water.
4) I would NOT recommend telling those that you live with.

1) Crack.
2) Oh.
3) What kind of soap and could you explain more on how i should wash the shower?
4) Oh i thought it would be information needed.

If you're finding faeces in the crack of your rear, are you wiping thoroughly when you do a #2?
If not, that's the problem. I'd focus on that and solve the problem at source before worrying about how to deal with the shower afterwards.

1) I would suggest spending more time wiping. Wipe until you don't see anything. Use Baby wipes if needed. Them suckers will clean anything.
2) Hep A, Hep B, Polio, food poisoning, cholera and typhus can all be transmitted in poop if even a microscopic amount gets ingested.
3) I would simply take my wash rag (make sure you are finished using it) and any decent anti-bacterial soap while the hot water is running and give it a decent scrubbing.
4) It would not help you at all to do this.

Unlike "Urban" I do not want details "", but if there is 1 ounce of concern on your part, pour bleach where you stand from time to time.

The reason I asked for details was if he was digging for them then we would have a completely different set of problems...;)

I have pastored an inner city church for four years, this is far from the oddest conversation I have had.
I always clean my rear last.
No, there is no need to throw the rag away, just make sure you are finished washing you before you start washing the floor of the tub. Another poster suggested a little clorox after you are out of the tub. That should certainly do the trick.
Anti-bacterial soap should be labeled on the bottle or package as "anti-bacterial".
If you can, try wiping with baby wipes. I'm telling ya, them things will get anything clean, and you will not have to worry about cleaning the tub.
Are you in the US?

Clorox is a type of bleach, basically if you're leaving this stuff in the shower it doesn't hurt to use something to bleach/disinfect after yourself.
I'd still be concerned about why it's there in the first place - when you take a number two, make sure you've wiped thoroughly afterwards. It sounds like I'm stating the obvious, but if you're finding remnants of it when you take a shower I have to wonder if you're missing some when you wipe.

I try to do the best i can i even use alot and it floods the tiolet forcing me to plunge it. Not sure what i am doing wrong here. Also would Lysol in a spray bottle work to clean it?

Lysol will work just fine as long as there are no chunks left...;)

By chunks you mean the feces or in the Lysol can? Also do i just spray the Lysol spray can on the bath tub and let it sit or what?

I meant poop. All you have to do is spray and walk away.

So no scrubing needed? Just spray all over the shower then walk away?

Clorox (Bleach), alcohol, and Lysol are all anti-microbials, meaning that they will kill pretty much anything bad that you cannot see. This is of course assuming that there are no particles (visible chunks) left in the tub. You can literally spray/pour it on and walk away.

So today i sprayed some of the lysol in the tub. I couldn't notice where i sprayed and where i didn't so i stopped. How much is needed to spray?

I'm really not sure what answers you are expecting here.
If you leave unwanted solids in the shower, wash them down the plug hole and then spray the area with your bleach/Clorox/Lysol/whatever. If it's a bottle with a spray handle give it a spray or two, but make sure the solids are washed away first. It's pretty easy - take ai at the affected area and pull the spray handle.
If you're using a bottle of bleach or similar, dilute it and use it according to the instructions on the bottle.

Heres how the cleaning went lets make sure i did everything right. I Nade sure there were no solids in the tub. I got the Lysol and sprayed the tub. Now the last question is how much lysol is needed if i wanted to make sure the entire tub was germ free? Is alot of it nessary or will a few sqirts get the job done?

Jun 25th 2009, 11:37 PM
Just a few squirts should be fine - nobody's going to be eating off the bottom of the tub.
