Just wanted to share something the Lord put on my hear the other day. It's been a huge blessing to me, and hopefully, it will be for others too.
I was walking my dog a few weeks back, praying to God for further guidance and support in areas where I still struggle. That led me to begin thinking about the word, "struggle," itself. Personally, when I think of the word, I think about somebody fighting against a much stronger force, just barely keeping their head above water. Scripture teaches, though, that we are fighting in a spiritual war. Not only that, but we have the God of the entire universe on our side, backing us up. To top it all off, the battle's already been won. Christ struck the lethal blow on the cross, and the book of Revelation shows us the final state of the enemy (and it ain't pretty ;) ).
With all that in perspective, I realized that we're not the ones struggling, Satan is. We're fighting a foe who has already been defeated. Obviously, he's still not to be taken lightly (a wounded animal can be quite dangerous), but the fact remains that he has already lost this war, and he's just struggling to bring as many down with him as he can. Fortunately for us, the same God who struck that mortal blow lives in each of us, and gives us the strength daily to overcome all of the attacks that the enemy may fling our way.
