I love my poetry, and I am my own favorite writer! Whenever I sit down to write, I talk to Holy Spirit and say something like this: "Holy Spirit, let's write something that will bring glory to Jesus!" I usually come with an idea of what I'd like to write about, in most cases something that had earlier that day touched my heart while in prayer or meditation, and *so* often when you invite Holy Spirit, He completely takes over! This is why I say that I'm my own favorite poet...

When I make poetry, I like to make it different than I had in previous poems - my aim is that no two poems of mine have the same beat, or the same rhyming scheme, or the same theme. Our God is the Creator of all things, is very creative, and loves to create! Therefore, I always ask Holy Spirit that our poetry would reflect that of God. When people read these poems, I want them to walk away refreshed!

So, here's a list of all my posted poetry, linked to the poems, for your enjoyment (and mine, and Jesus')... be blessed by them!

Also, my user name used to be different (the mods are aware) - the Lord impacted my heart in such a profound way, reviving my life, and I just had to have a new start. I used to be Mighty Warrior, and so here's some of my posted poetry from then as well (though I am unsure of all the dates... "The Baptism" is probably the best poem we've ever written; and "Song of Spring" was the very first poem I wrote with God as a Christ follower, so it holds a special place in my heart and in Daddy's heart):

Song of Spring
You have always been mine
Take Up a Lament (Jeremiah 9)
The intercessors (for those who have ears to hear)
The Wandering One
The painful preparation of the Bride
The Baptism

I also started a thread where anyone can post haiku poetry found in Scripture, which has been fun for me... if you find any, please share them!
