Growing in Christ 1 Thessalonians 5:9-11 For God has not destined us for wrath, but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we will live together with Him. Therefore encourage one another and build up one another, just as you also are doing.

How do you.....?

I am trying to really educate my self with and through the word of God. I just was wondering if anyone could drop me some pointers on there walk and or journey to enlightenment. Besides just reading how do you "study"the bible. I got a full audio set of the bible for my drive to and from work 1 hour each way. I am currently doing a private bible study for couples with my wife at home. What have you found that has help with your understanding, learning and applying of the word? Like if I run into a phrase, saying, custom or lesson in the bible I dont understand how would you find it yourself (besides on great sights like this one)? Maybe cross refence from the libray or other books? Just wondering how I could increase my knowlegde of the word therefore helping me to live and spread the word. As of right now I am still not confident about how to present and debate with other people. I have no real knowlegde of the bible or the teachings of the lord. Any advice is welcome. ****escpecially preachers, reverends, chaplins and/or nuns how do yall really get in there to determine the true meaning or lesson? How did you get to where you are?
