Well one theory is based on John 12:10, that Jesus told this parable when the news of the real Lazarus reached him, and the purpose of the parable was that even if Abraham (in the parable) did raise the real Lazarus from the dead, that "the rich man", "his father", and the "five brothers" would not believe him. Which actually is what Abraham says to Lazarus in the parable.
And of course in real life, when Lazarus was raised, what was the response of Annas, Caiphas and
Annas' five sons? They sought to have Lazarus killed.
John 12:10 So the chief priests made plans to kill Lazarus as well.
So personally I don't think the name Lazarus is a coincidence. What Abraham said (in the parable) would be the reaction of Annas, Caiaphas and Annas' five sons, is exactly what happened....
A bit odd that the only two named resurrections in the Gospels are both called Lazarus, and that the only parable which has a named individual is this one.
