If it's merely the Roman Empire, how can one find a prophecy about an empire that no longer exists?
If it's only the "Revived" Roman Empire, what were the previous three kingdoms? Were they not Babylon, Media-Persia, and Greece as is nearly universally agreed? If they were those three, why the arbitrary gap between the Greek empire and the "Revived" Roman Empire? Why skip the actual Roman Empire? Or any other empire in-between?
If it's both, where does the text indicate that the Roman Empire ever fell to begin with, let alone that it was "Revived" after centuries of its non-existence?
I'm asking questions to make sure we've thoroughly thought through the entire context.

I believe the Roman Empire never fell. If you look at the iron empire, you can see it has 3 phases in its timeline:
1) Iron
2) Iron and clay
3) Ten toes
A)I believe the iron empire is Rome (strength of iron).
B) I believe the iron and clay stage is the Holy Roman Empire (not using the classical dates of the Holy Roman Empire, but looking from when the bishop of Rome actually had huge international influence, this occurred at the fall of Rome, when he influenced the Christian tribes)
C) The ten toes stage is a future stage referred to in Rev 17:
17:12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
17:13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.
Looking at the little horn of the fourth beast (a horn is a powerpoint), it appears that the powerpoint of Rome will be outside of Rome (it is another horn) during the ten horns stage of the fourth empire. This means that another country will rule earth with Rome's power. This fits in with the imagery in Revelation of the woman (Rome) sitting on the beast that re-appears.
This is why I always say that Israel is the final "little horn" of Rome, that re-appeared to the amazement of earth, where the antichrist will be crowned.
