Teenage acnes..need some ideas on what works

As an older teen I used surgical spirit to dry up spots, although I didn't get too many of them by then. It's not the kind of thing I'd specifically recommend because it can leach oils out of the skin but it worked for me.

One other thing I always reckon on, I avoid anything with antiperspirants in it. Also when he's washing his face make sure he washes with hot water and then rinses with cool water. The idea is that hot water opens the pores so anything blocking them can come out, and then the cool water closes them up again to stop stuff getting in. It might be an old wives' tale but it's always worked for me.
