No, I do not think that.
What I believe is that we are to prepare.
If a professor schedules a final exam in a class, and part of the class does not believe he is really going to give the exam are they likely to get the same grade? 
I believe that it is much more likely the students who study will do well. Those who do not study are more likely to fail. 
The students who study are not necessarily any smarter, or better then those who do not. They are just more likely to be prepared.
