    Re: Western Christianity

We may vote but as soon as we attempt to impose our own view of morality upon others we start to cross the line from changing people from the inside out, to trying to force change from the outside...

    Re: Western Christianity

This kind of comment always reminds me of a situation I found myself in some years ago (before I was a Christian). One of the guys I worked with was constantly positive, nothing ever seemed to phase...

    Re: EXERCISE!!!!

So how did the ride go?

Phroggie and I did a 65 mile ride over the weekend, I'm debating whether to try and transfer my entry for the 150km next weekend to the 200km instead. But it's supposed to...
  7. Re: 7 year olds suspended for make-believe gun shooting

No need to ban erasers, only the extra large ones that might be used to erase more than a few words of pencil without having to reload. Assault rubber band launchers are another thing entirely, we...

  9. Re: 7 year olds suspended for make-believe gun shooting

You're not quite getting the hang of this.

Bullies are poor misunderstood people who are doing nothing worse than attempting a very crude form of self-expression, trying to get the inner hurt out...
  10. Re: 7 year olds suspended for make-believe gun shooting

Maybe pencils are safe but we need to ban assault pencils. Those are nasty.

I'm glad these dangerous children are being dealt with, I can sleep so much sounder at night knowing the powers that be...

What was it you bought in the end?

I did a 100k brevet yesterday and set a new personal best time for it (4:45 moving time). Got another 100k this Sunday and a 150k next week.
  12. Re: 7 year olds suspended for make-believe gun shooting

I agree with RK, if you don't want your daughter pretending to shoot people that's your decision to make. Expecting everyone else to restrict their children the way you might choose to restrict yours...

Re: A Question About Treating Trolls

We've also seen people organised on another board sign up en masse here and target specific individuals who they considered to be wavering in their faith.

The ones who sign up and start posting...

    Happy birthday -SEEKING-

Since our friend Seeking is quick to post threads wishing others a happy birthday it seems only fair he should have one for his own birthday, no?

So happy birthday Mr Seeking, hope you have a good...
  15. Re: Should I be honest and up-front with my boss, or let God be God?

I guess a lot here depends on just what the school ethos is.

If it's a Christian school and has a policy of only hiring practising Christians as teachers then it's pretty much a given that your...

  17. Re: 7 year olds suspended for make-believe gun shooting

If you struggle to get gun control laws to pass what better fallback than to brainwash the next generation into thinking they are evil and therefore not wanting to own one at all?

Re: A Question About Treating Trolls

    No?

I guess you've never seen the trolls who want to try and shake the faith of as many Christians as possible by posting things they read on other forums that have very little substance but just...

Re: A Question About Treating Trolls

I think this is a key point.

If a shepherd sees a wolf stalking his sheep he doesn't shrug and figure the wolf has to eat so might as well hand over a sheep, he'll take whatever steps are...

Re: A Question About Treating Trolls

If someone comes in wanting to mock in such a transparent way then it's not such a turnabout if they end up getting mocked themselves. It's not just a case of "they deserve it" but it's not like...

The troll won't be getting antagonised, unless they are upset that we didn't take the bait.
