Re: Bethel dream to the Exodus

Consider the context. Abram was on the cusp of crossing the Euphrates and entering into Canaan. For Abram's seed, either Canaan or Egypt would be an alien residency. Abram is being assured that his...

Re: Bethel dream to the Exodus

I know that most translations render Exodus 12:40 the way you have presented it. But here is what the Greek of the Septuagint reads, 'ἡ δὲ κατοίκησις τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ ἣν κατῴκησαν ἐν γῇ Αἰγύπτῳ καὶ ἐν...

Re: Bethel dream to the Exodus

No, this is all wrong. Once the covenant has been validated, or ratified, that's it, it is in effect. You are confusing the out-working of the covenant, as God began to carry out his end of the...

Re: Bethel dream to the Exodus

I've finished working out the chronology back to the Exodus and to Jacob's dream.

  6. Discussion Re: we who are still alive and are left in 1 Thes 4

The Greek used in 4:15 and 4:17 (the identical phrase is used in both verses) says, 'those ones living, those ones remaining'; remaining as in surviving or left alive. The translation could be given...

    Re: Visions of Daniel

Sorry, I didn't quite understand that.
Second month in the Bible, refers to the second month on the Jewish calendar. There were two different ways of counting the months, or of marking the new year....

    Re: Visions of Daniel

Yeah, I got the same. I used Nov-Mar as an aproximation for the given time period. However, if I used a mid-October starting date, I got 152/153 days. Either way, it's slightly different.

Re: How many 70-week eras were there?

Here are a couple of points which confirm the time of Jesus' death. I'll see if I can find an argument confirming the date of the Exodus later.
Jesus' appearance as the Messiah came in 'the...

Re: How many 70-week eras were there?

Given that all of the dates given in this 'timeline' are incorrect, no, it's not really much of a coincindence that the fudged numbers work out. Jesus began his ministry in 29AD, not 26. The Exodus...

I just wanted to point out that I agree with all of this, and that these are good points to show where there are some problems.

    Re: Visions of Daniel

    Nice post.
Correct. Perhaps substitute 'God's people' for 'Land of Israel' (consider Dan 11:14, 12:1, 'your people').

    Correct.

Half points. Bronze is Greece, but not Alexander's empire....

After looking through it to try and track anything down, I think that the amount that is directly taken from any other source is so small that it's not worth worrying about. Maybe 2 lines in the...

I don't know of it being available on the web. I did a search, but couldn't find it. Like I said, it's a very old publication.

No, none of these refer to an individual. Each of these is rather in-depth, though, so I'm not going to go into any detail unless you are particularly interested.

Re: Looking for info on "the Beast."

The Man of Lawlessness class and the Antichrist class are the same; they being religious in nature. But the Beast is the political element, as Daniel 7 should show.
  23. Poll: Re: Poll: Is the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels the lake of f

Yeah, that's what I had figured; so, I answered the poll already.
  24. Poll: Re: Poll: Is the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels the lake of f

Well, basically, what I'm saying is that the question itself is wrong. Therefore, I cannot answer it with a simple yes or no.
The correct question to ask is, 'Does the everlasting fire of Matt 25:41...
  25. Poll: Re: Poll: Is the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels the lake of f

Fire symbolizes destruction. Everlasting fire signifies that the destruction is permanent. So, it is not the lake of fire, but everlasting fire and the lake of fire both refer to/represent the same...

  28. Re: Dan 8:9 toward the south, the east, and toward the pleasant land.

    This is a good question.
First, note that the ram is not said come from the east. Though, of course, it obviously does in fact, come from the east, but, this is not said. The he-goat is said to come...

Re: A question on Genesis 1:5

Male and Female is a purely fleshly concept. To think that spirit creatures, or even God himself have gender is utterly absurd.
God is referred to as 'He' in accord with the principle of headship,...
  30. Re: Dan 8:9 toward the south, the east, and toward the pleasant land.

The 'directions' given do not refer to location, rather to characteristics of the 'little horn'. Also, the word translated as 'east' actually means the place where the sun rises, and can be used to...
