If you gave $50 to a millionaire, do you think he'd notice? And if you gave $50 to someone living on the streets?
Living in infinite joy, never having known anything else, would mean never being able to comprehend what you had been given.
God's love for us is so great that He gave us free will (a glorious enough gift in it's own right!) that we might make the wrong choice, that we might live in an imperfect world, that we might understand His gift. Having tasted hate, to know love, having tasted misery to know joy.
Which is the more meaningful and the more fulfilling, the love you had for your mother as a child, or the love you have now? It's only in seeing all that she has done for you that you can feel the sheer joy of loving her without restraint and beyond measure, but with understanding. Similarly, it's only when we truly comprehend all that He has done for us that we can love Him with understanding. It's this comprehending love for the almighty which brings boundless joy, nothing could make us happier. He loves us so much, He wants us to know this boundless joy so much, that He would even give us the option to hate Him, to reject Him - because without this option, we could never know this true joy.
Call to Me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known. Jeremiah 33:3
You put the stars in the sky and you know them by name, You see the depths of my heart and You love me the same, You are amazing, God.
I do not 'hope' I am saved and I do not 'think' I am saved, I know it with an absolute conviction. I know that I am saved just as I know that I think and I know that I feel. I am purchased and sealed, His possession.
