Parts of one of my favorites...
Lord I lift your name on high.
Lord I love to sing your praises.
I'm so glad you're in my life.
I'm so glad you came to save us.
You came from Heaven to Earth
To show the way.
From the Earth to the Cross
My debt to pay.
From the cross to the grave
From the grave to the sky
Lord I lift your name on high.

I love all the songs that have been posted, they are so awesome!![]()
I have only recently heard the one by Casting Crowns " If We Are The Body" That is an awesome song! That is also the cry of my heart.
I want to share this song that meant so much to me by Kathy Troccoli when I was going through a time of darkness and struggling for peace.
It seemed to be a life line I held on to, the words of that song.
"He will make a way" And you know what, He did. And gave me peace and joy unspeakable.
Jesus truly is the healer of all that is broken and He will make a way!
Artist: Kathy Troccoli
Album: Corner Of Eden
Title: He Will Make a Way
I know that you're discouraged
But you're not alone
There is absolutely no situation
Out of His control
One door may close
Another will open
Jesus is healer of all that is broken
He will make a way
Where there is no way
He will bring His peace
Where there is no peace
Watch Him put together
What's been torn apart
He can soften up the most
Hardened of hearts
He will make a way
Where there is no way
Don't you go believin' lies
He's not forgotten you
There's gonna be another
Higher, greater place He will take you to
Watch Him move mountains
Ride you through the waves
He can deliver in the darkest of days
He will make a way
Where there is no way
He will bring His peace
where there is no peace
There is no war
He doesn't win
When you're at your end
He's just beginning
He will make a way
Where there is no way
Our only hope is in Him
No matter what this life can bring
Jesus stands alone
As the God of impossible things
He will make a way
Where there is no way
He will bring His peace
where there is no peace
Watch Him move mountains
Ride you through the waves
He can deliver in the darkest of days
He will make a way
Where there is no way
He will bring His peace
where there is no peace
God bless.
Love in Christ,
Debra
Newsboys: He reigns
It's the song of the redeemed
Rising from the African plain
It's the song of the forgiven
Drowning out the Amazon rain
The song of Asian believers
Filled with God's holy fire
It's every tribe, every tounge, every nation
A love song born of a grateful choir
[Chorus- Two Times]
It's all God's children singin'
Glory, glory, hallelujah
He reigns, He reigns
Let it rise above the fore-winds
Caught up in the heavenly sound
Let praises echo from the towers of cathedrals
To the faithful gathered underground
Of all the songs sung from the dawn of creation
Some were meant to persist
Of all the bells rung from a thousand steaples
None rings truer than this
[Chorus- Four Times]
And all the powers of darkness
Tremble at what they've just heard
Cause all the powers of darkness
Can't drown out a single word
[Chorus until the end]
When all God's children sing out
Glory Glory Hallelujah
He reigns, He reigns
All God's children sing out
Glory Glory Hallelujah
He reigns, He reigns
All God's people sing out
Glory Glory Hallelujah
He Reigns, He reigns
(back to original chorus)
"If there is no God, one will lose nothing by believing in him. If there is a God, one will lose everything by not believing"
"If you gain, you gain all; if you lose, you lose nothing. Wager then without hesitation, that He exists."

!WARNING!
These lyrics are not Christian Lyrics at all.
These are the lyrics to Tool's song opiate. The reason I am posting them is because they give direct insight to MUCH of the worlds perspective on us. It is an ignorant view but it directly concerns us because we need to overcome the worlds view to show them what being a Christian is truly about. We need to know the enemy in order to fight it. That is why these lyrics are some of my favorite.
Opiate
Choices always were a problem for you.
What you need is someone strong to guide you.
Deaf and blind and dumb and born to follow,
what you need is someone strong to use you...
like me,
like me.
If you want to get your soul to heaven,
trust in me.
Don't judge or question.
You are broken now,
but faith can heal you.
Just do everything I tell you to do.
Deaf and blind and dumb and born to follow.
Let me lay my holy hand upon you.
My God's will
becomes me.
When he speaks out,
he speaks through me.
He has needs
like I do.
We both want
to ra*pe you.
Jesus Christ, why don't you come save my life.
Open my eyes and blind me with your light
and your lies.
My current favorite song to listen to is Creed by Third Day. Man, when they sing, "on the third day He was raised again," and the crowd goes nuts it brings tears to my eyes every time! Awesome stuff!
I love Third Day!![]()
And this is an awesome song....
Arise My Love
Newsong
Not a word was heard at the tomb that day.
Just shuffling of soldiers feet as they guarded the grave.
One day, two days, three days had past.
Could it be that Jesus breathed his last?
Could it be that his Father had forsaken him?
Turned his back on his son, dispising our sin.
Oh hell seemed to whisper, "Just forget it, He's dead."
Then the Father looked down to his son and he said..
Arise, My love.
Arise, My love.
The grave no longer has a hold on you
No more death sting
No more suffering
Arise...Arise...my love.
The Earth trembled and the tomb began to shake, and like lightening from Heaven
The stone was rolled away.
And the dead men and guards they all stood there in fright
As the power of love displayed its might
And suddenly a melody filled the air
Riding wings of wind, it was everywhere
The words of creation had been proved.
The sweet sound of victory, so loud and clear.
Arise, my love.
Arise, my love.
The grave no longer has a hold on you.
No more death sting no more suffering
Arise...arise....my love.
Sin, where are your shackles?
Death, where is your sting?
Hell; has been defeated. The grave will not hold, the king.
Arise, my love.
Arise, my love.
Arise....Arise....

I think I heard that on the radio one day! I always wondered who that was by...now I have to go see if I can find their cd....Thanks!
Some of the lyrics ya'll have posted have brought tears to my eyes. Beautiful.
One of my favorites is an old hymn:
Great is Thy Faithfulness
Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with Thee.
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;
As Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be.
Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy Faithfulness, Lord unto me.
Summer and winter and spring-time and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above
join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.
Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,
Thy own dear presence to cheer and to guide,
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside.
---------------------------------
I Don't Belong
It's not home
Where men sell their souls and the taste of power is sweet
Where wrong is right and the neighbors fight
While the hungry are dying in the streets
Where the kids are abused and women are used
And the weak are crushed by the strong
Nations gone mad; Jesus is sad
And I don't belong.
I don't belong
And I'm going home someday home to my own native land.
I don't belong
And it seems like I hear the sound of a "Welcome Home" band.
I don't belong
I'm a foreigner here singing a sojourner's song.
I've always known this place ain't home
And I don't belong.
Don't belong
But while I'm here I'll be living like I've nothing to lose.
And while I breathe I'll just believe
My Lord is gonna see me through.
I'll not be deceived by earth's make -believe
I'll close my ears to her siren song
By praising His name I'm not ashamed
Cause I don't belong.
I belong to a Kingdom of Peace where only love is the law
Where children lead and captives are freed
And God becomes a baby on the straw
Where dead men live and rich men give
Their kingdoms to buy back a song
Where sinners like me become royalty
And we'll all belong.
Yes I belong
And I'm going someday, home to my own native land
Where I'll belong
And it seems like I hear the sound of a "Welcome Home" band.
Yes, I'll belong
No foreigner there singing a sojourner's song
I've always known I'm going home
Where I belong
Yes I've always known this place ain't home
And I don't belong.
-----------------------------
And I don't have the lyrics to all of this one, just the end part:
They say that Heaven's pretty
And living here is, too
But if I have to choose between the two
I'll go Home....where I belong.
Hugs,
Teresa, the Misfit Christian
Here's one that I've currently listened to over and over... something about it just keeps catching me into it... not sure what yet, but I figured I'd post it here on this thread
You're Everything
by David Crowder Band
You're everything
I could want
That I could need
If I could see
You want me
Could I believe?
'Cause You're perfectly
All I want, all I need
If I could just feel You're touch
Could I be free?
Why do You shine so?
Can a blind man see?
Why do You call?
Do You beckon me?
Can the dear hear the voice of love?
Would You have me come?
Can the cripple run?
Are You the one?
Chorus:
To raise me up
From this grave
Touch my tongue
And then I'll sing
Heal my limbs
Then joyfully I'll run to You [2x]
Outro:
'Cause You're everything [4x]
And I'm alive and I'll sing
And I'm alive and I'm free [6x]
These are lyrics by the Christian metal band Extol. They blew me away the first time I heard this album:
Ember
There is a fire to light a sleeping heart
A wish to see the spirit take control
Crush the chains that hold you down
And let yourself be filled with fire
Wake up and realize the dream you've lived
Was set up by the liar
A broken heart, a kneeling soul
The spirit will set you on fire
To give you strength to reach the ones
Who search the truth with a deep desire
Crucifixion of the ego
Death and burial of the old
Crush the chains that hold you down
And let yourself be filled with fire
A broken heart, a kneeling soul
The spirit will set you on fire
There is no spiritual authority
Outside obedience to God
A broken heart is needed to reach this state
Divine encounter with the living God
"Seeing that a Pilot steers the ship in which we sail, who will never allow us to perish even in the midst of shipwrecks, there is no reason why our minds should be overwhelmed with fear and overcome with weariness" - John Calvin
My life is like a racing car
Hurtling towards the wall
At the speed of sound
My time has been so finely tuned
But I've never seen a human being
So tightly wound
At times it seems beyond belief
I just need a bit of relief
Like a war-weary soldier
Marching up and over the edge
Take my hand and pull me up
'Cause I'm falling too fast
Somehow I've lost my way
I'm crying save me
Can you hear me
I'm calling out
I'm crying out
A cry for love
I can feel you
You're touching me
You're healing me
My cry for love
I will be the first to admit
I don't have the strength to handle it
Alone anymore
I don't have to fret don't have to explain
All my worrying's in vain
I'm not alone anymore
Why is this so hard to believe
What's mine is mine to freely receive
Like the changing of seasons
This is the beauty of the word
And for all that I have seen and heard
Oh I want to come home
Somehow I'll make my way
My way home to you
Can you hear me
I'm calling out
I'm crying out
A cry for love
I can feel you
You're touching me
You're healing me
My cry for love
Oh Father hear my call
I know you will catch when I fall
Oh I pray that you'll hold me now
Hold me
And take my fear away
I'm crying save me
Oh I know that you can hear me
Hear me crying out for love
Oh I know that you can feel my cry for love
I can hear you
You're calling out
You're crying out
A cry for love
I can feel you
You're touching me
You're healing me
My cry for love
Michael W. Smith
karenmot, you just triggered a song in my head with this,,,,
I only know a little bit of it...
I can feel You
Flowing through me
Come Lord Jesus
And lift me up.......
Come and lift me up.
Fenris: "There are two ways to shoot an arrow into a bulls-eye You can shoot the arrow into the bulls-eye or you can shoot the arrow and paint the bulls-eye wherever it hits"
Romans 12:19 Don't seek revenge ... give place to God's wrath. For it is written "Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord"
Isa. 30:32
And every blow of the rod of punishment, which the Lord will lay on him, will be with the music of tambourines and lyres; And in battles, brandishing weapons, He will fight them
G_d was gracious He has shown favor
What are you willing to die for? Now live for it!
ACCM, I think I know that song...
COME AND FILL ME UP
I can feel You flowing through me,
Holy Spirit, come and fill me up,
Come and fill me up.
Love and mercy fill my senses,
I am thirsty for Your presence, Lord,
Come and fill me up.
Lord, let Your mercy wash away all of my sin.
Fill me completely with Your love, once again.
I need You,
I want You,
I love Your presence.
I need You,
I want You,
I love Your presence.
