    Red face Favorite Lyrics....

I am a newbie and i hope this hasnt been done already...but here goes.. Share with everybody some of your favorite praise or worship lyrics (doesnt have to be from your favorite musician)....might just be a pick me up for someone...
for me there are a couple but (even oldies like How great thou art) but presently Nicole's "my redeemer lives" just makes me wanna lift up holy hands on I 95. (not happened)..... an example....

The very same God that spins things in orbit

He runs to the weary, the worn and the weak

And the same gentle hands that hold me when I'm broken

They conquered death to bring me victory

    Be blessed...

These have to be mine.......and yes this has kinda been done but there are so many newbies aboard...it needed to get done again.....I love to sing the word of God and read all the new lyrics......

    -------------

"I can only imagine what it will be like, when I walk by Your side...
I can only imagine, what my eyes will see, when Your Face is before me!
I can only imagine. I can only imagine.
Surrounded by Your Glory, what will my heart feel?
Will I dance for you, Jesus? Or in awe of You, be still?
Will I stand in Your presence, or to my knees will I fall?
Will I sing 'Hallelujah!'? Will I be able to speak at all?
I can only imagine! I can only imagine!

I can only imagine, when that day comes, when I find myself standing in the Son.
I can only imagine, when all I will do, is forever, forever worship You!
I can only imagine! I can only imagine!

Yeah! I can only imagine!

Yeah! I can only imagine!

I can only imagine! Yeah! I can only imagine!! Only imagine!!!
    I can only imagine.

I can only imagine, when all I do is forever, forever worship You!
    I can only imagine."

As we lift up our hands
    Will You meet us here
As we call on Your name

We have come to this place
    To worship You
    God of mercy and grace

    It is You
    We adore
    It is You
    Praises are for
    Only You
    The heavens declare
    It is You
    It is You

And holy, holy is our God almighty
And holy, holy is His name alone, yeah
And holy, holy is our God almighty
And holy, holy is His name alone

    It is You
    We adore
    It is You
    Only You

As we lift up our hands
As we call on Your name
    Will you visit this place
    By Your mercy and grace
GOD bless you!!!Just me for what its worth!!

Here's another Neswboys song that I LOVE... it's from Adoration:The Worship Album!

    Father, Blessed Father

Will You take what we have
    A sacrifice unto You
    Then create clean hands
And, Lord, make our spirits new

    Father, blessed Father
Lead and guide us for Your name’s sake
And keep us in the shelter of Your presence
    ‘Til we see Your face

Let us hear what You say
Let us know Your voice and all of Your ways
Take our hands, lead us home
To the refuge that we find in You alone

    All adoration
    To our Lord Redeemer
    To our Shepherd
    Who carries us forevermore

    Breathe on me
    Breathe, oh, Breath of God
    (Breathe, oh, Breath of Life)
    Breathe on me
    ‘Til my heart is new
    Oh Lord, oh Lord
    ‘Til my heart is new

And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
    Genesis 12:2-3

Yes, Nicole C. Mullens' song "Redeemer" is beautiful. It's a great song. You have good taste, kistan! I like a lot of Nicole C. Mullen's songs. They are inspiring.

By the way, has anyone heard of Kelly Minter? She is a fairly new Christian artist and I just heard of her recently (and then got her cd for Christmas ), but she is also really good! I think her cd was produced by Margaret Becker, who is also her spirtual mentor. Man,I need one of those(mentor)! lol....

I love this song, its from Robin Mark, called Be unto Your Name

    Be unto your name
We are a moment You are forever
Lord of the ages God before time
We are a vapor You are eternal
    Love everlasting reigning on high

    Holy holy Lord God Almighty
Worthy is the Lamb Who was slain
    Highest praises honor and glory
    Be unto Your name
    Be unto Your name

We are the broken You are the healer
    Jesus Redeemer mighty to save
You are the love song we'll sing forever
Bowing before You blessing Your name

    Be unto Your name

and I am a BIG Michael W. Smithfan, and I love the song Purified

    Purified
    Where the angels see
You are praised as You should be.
    But how can I express
    My yearning for Your Holiness.
    May it be (that)

    I will open my heart
Search me in the deepest part.
And I will stand in cleansing fire,
    By You, purified,
    By You I'm purified.

    Savior of my soul
To your strength I yield control.
    Purge me of my stain
Sin will lose it's mortal reign.
    Make me free (and)

    I will open my heart
Search me in the deepest part.
And I will stand in cleansing fire,
    By You, purified,
    By You I'm purified.

    You are Holy

    I will open my heart
Search me in the deepest part.
And I will stand in cleansing fire,
    By You, purified,
    By You I'm purified.

    You are Holy

    Love you,
    Mieke
I would rather be dead than spend one second without Daddy!

Glory to the Lord our God
Glory to the Lamb on the throne
We open wide the gates of our hearts
With our lips we rise up and pray
as we worship the Ancient of Days

There are many songs that I love.
    There is one in particular that I can never hear enough of;

    Amazing Grace.

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound!
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost but now am found,
was blind, but now I see.

Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
    and grace my fears relieved.
How precious did that grace appear,
    the hour I first believed!

Through many dangers, toils, and snares
    I have already come.
Tis grace that brought me safe thus far,
and grace will lead me home.

When we've been there ten thousand years,
    bright shining as the sun.
We've no less days to sing God's grace,
    than when we first begun.

I LOVE Amazing Grace! That has definitely gotta be one of my favorites!

This is another awesome song by Newsboys from their Thrive Album.

    Rescue

Old as the hills, new everyday
It's in the bones like it's DNA
First taste is sweet 'til it rots in your mouth
Another old friend who rats you out
All of the time in this life
Can't loose the ties that bind
They shackle our feet, we trip, we fall
    We crawl
I was born in the mess of it all

Then You rescued me, rescued me
Lord, with a touch of Your hand
    Another captive free again
Who else in heaven could do this but You?
    You rescued me, rescued me
Lord, with a love out of mind
Oh, You know I love it when
    Everyday I am rescued again

Over the years your nature's way
Is turning wrongs into roles you play
Caught in a spell that's overcast
You gain perspective, it doesn't last
All of the time in this life
Can't loose the ties that blind you
They're new everyday, old as the fall
    The fall
And I was born in the mess of it all

Then You rescued me, rescued me
Lord, with a touch of Your hand
    Another captive free again
Who else in heaven could do this but You?
    You rescued me, rescued me
Lord, with a love out of mind
Oh, You know I love it when
    Everyday I am rescued again

    Every day, every way, every
    Every cheap imitation
    All of my imagination
    Even my self-preservation
    Is yours in time

    You rescued me, rescued me
Lord, with a touch of Your hand
    Another captive free again...

Music by Peter Furler / Lyrics by Peter Furler, Steve Taylor and Phil Joel

Let Your living waters flow over my soul
let Your Holy Spirit come and take control of evrey situation that has troubled my mind.

    Jesus, Holy Jesus, Jesus
Fenris: "There are two ways to shoot an arrow into a bulls-eye You can shoot the arrow into the bulls-eye or you can shoot the arrow and paint the bulls-eye wherever it hits"

Romans 12:19 Don't seek revenge ... give place to God's wrath. For it is written "Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord"

    Isa. 30:32
And every blow of the rod of punishment, which the Lord will lay on him, will be with the music of tambourines and lyres; And in battles, brandishing weapons, He will fight them

G_d was gracious He has shown favor

What are you willing to die for? Now live for it!

Amazing Grace - My Chains Are Gone

I heard a new version of Amazing Grace by Chris Tomlin that added this:

The Lord has promised good to me,
    His Word my hope secures,
He will my shield and portion be
    As long as life endures.

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow
    The sun forbear to shine.
But God, who called me here below
    Will be forever mine.

    Chorus:

My chains are gone; I've been set free
My God, My Savior, has ransomed me.
And like a flood - His mercy reigns .....
    Unending love, amazing grace.

It really spoke to the hearts of our music team at church, and now we use this version to open each service.

    God Bless,

    Trading my Sorrows

I heard this one recently and it really spoke volumes to me:

    TRADING MY SORROWS

    I'm trading my sorrows;
    I'm trading my shame.
I'm laying them down for the joy of the Lord.

    I'm trading my sickness,
    I'm trading my pain.
I'm laying them down for the joy of the Lord.

Yes Lord, yes Lord, yes yes Lord
Yes Lord, yes Lord, yes yes Lord
Yes Lord, yes Lord, yes yes Lord .... Amen

I'm pressed but not crushed, persecuted not abandoned.
    Struck down, but not destroyed.
I'm blessed beyond the curse, for His promise will endure
And His joy's gonna' be my strength.

Though the sorrow may last for the night
His joy comes with the morning.

My very favorite gospel song of all time is "The Old Rugged Cross." Not just because it's such a beautiful song, although it is. I love it because if it weren't for the Old Rugged Cross, we wouldn't have any reason to sing all the other songs. The Cross gives them their meaning.

Blessings for a wonderful, Christ-filled day,
    graceforme

Awesome, I kinda like those lyrics and the meaning of them.Hopefully, for Jesus' sake, the instruments really are being played in the song, passionately for the love of God.I haven't heard that song so I don't know, but I am a musician and if a singer brought me lyrics like the one's above, I would play guitar and/or drums to it extremely passionately for the Lord.

Speaking of Awesome, I love this song!

    Awesome God by Rich Mullins:

"Our God is an Awesome God
    He reigns from heaven above
    with wisdom, power and love
our God is an Awesome God...
...Judgement and wrath He poured out on Sodom
His mercy and grace He showed us at the cross
I hope that we have not too quickly forgotten
that our God is an Awesome God."

    Amen to that!

    PSALM-138:
I give you thanks, O Lord, with all my heart; I will sing your praises before the gods.I bow before your holy Temple as I worship.I will give thanks to your name for your unfailing love and faithfulness, because your promises are backed by all the honor of your name. When I pray, you answer me; you encourage me by giving me the strength I need.

    JOHN-3:16:
"For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. They (sinners) hate the light because they want to sin in the darkness."

Casting Crowns - Stained Glass Masquerade

    Is there anyone that fails
    Is there anyone that falls
Am I the only one in church today feelin' so small

Cause when I take a look around
    Everybody seems so strong
    I know they'll soon discover
    That I don't belong

So I tuck it all away, like everything's okay
If I make them all believe it, maybe I'll believe it too
So with a painted grin, I play the heart again
So everyone will see me the way that I see them

    Are we happy plastic people
    Under shiny plastic steeples
    With walls around our weakness
And smiles to hide our pain
    But if the invitation's open
To every heart that has been broken
Maybe then we close the curtain
    On our stained glass masquerade

Is there anyone who's been there
Are there any hands to raise
Am I the only one who's traded
In the altar for a stage

    The performance is convincing
And we know every line by heart
Only when no one is watching
    Can we really fall apart

But would it set me free
If I dared to let you see
    The truth behind the person
That you imagine me to be

    Would your arms be open
    Or would you walk away
    Would the love of Jesus
Be enough to make you stay

Man its awesome to find songs that say EXACTLY how I feel. Where Im at in life I hate going to the church BUILDING because I have to put on a fake performance because Im expected to be strong through everything. When all I want to do is just break down and cry because of all the hurt in my heart and soul.

But your not allowed to do that in church because "people will talk"

"I love you, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold."
    -- (Psalm 18:1-2)

"Those who wait on the Lord will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk ant not be weary" -- (Isaiah 40:31)
