If this was the proper way to think, why did Paul utilize soldiers to protect his movement to Ceaserea in Acts 23?

With you're reasoning Paul should have refused the help from the soldiers and just trusted God. But he didn't... why?

So, when the Lord avenges the usa, and works His wrath against it, does that mean that God's wrath is going to fall on the christians whom are in the war at that time?

Just curious how you all get past the idea that His wrath is only on other nations.

I hope you do realise it is coming here, also...

and, when it does, it is going to show everyone just WHY He did not want His people involved in the aspects of human governments in this way, WAR.

Does the wrath of God fall on christians?

Please think about that, before you answer.

PRIDE has blinded the usa into thinking that no wrath is coming on them..guess what? IT is almost here.

Yes it does, just like all the Christian's that died in Germany during all the carpet bombing, just like all the Christian's that died when we dropped those nukes x2 on Japan, just like all the Christian's that died when God allowed the attack against us on 9/11.

It's a small price to pay for God to exact His purpose on this world to lead us to the end of times.

Edit: Besides I think you got it backwards. God used that attack on 9/11 to get us off our butts and finally start letting Him lead us into this war. When the next president pull us out then the attacks will resume until we get back into the war.

10And when there arose a great dissension, the chief captain, fearing lest Paul should have been pulled in pieces of them, commanded the soldiers to go down, and to take him by force from among them, and to bring him into the castle.
11And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, Be of good cheer, Paul: for as thou hast testified of me in Jerusalem, so must thou bear witness also at Rome.
12And when it was day, certain of the Jews banded together, and bound themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul.
13And they were more than forty which had made this conspiracy.
14And they came to the chief priests and elders, and said, We have bound ourselves under a great curse, that we will eat nothing until we have slain Paul.
15Now therefore ye with the council signify to the chief captain that he bring him down unto you to morrow, as though ye would enquire something more perfectly concerning him: and we, or ever he come near, are ready to kill him.
16And when Paul's sister's son heard of their lying in wait, he went and entered into the castle, and told Paul.
17Then Paul called one of the centurions unto him, and said, Bring this young man unto the chief captain: for he hath a certain thing to tell him.
18So he took him, and brought him to the chief captain, and said, Paul the prisoner called me unto him, and prayed me to bring this young man unto thee, who hath something to say unto thee.
19Then the chief captain took him by the hand, and went with him aside privately, and asked him, What is that thou hast to tell me?
20And he said, The Jews have agreed to desire thee that thou wouldest bring down Paul to morrow into the council, as though they would enquire somewhat of him more perfectly.
21But do not thou yield unto them: for there lie in wait for him of them more than forty men, which have bound themselves with an oath, that they will neither eat nor drink till they have killed him: and now are they ready, looking for a promise from thee.
22So the chief captain then let the young man depart, and charged him, See thou tell no man that thou hast shewed these things to me.
23And he called unto him two centurions, saying, Make ready two hundred soldiers to go to Caesarea, and horsemen threescore and ten, and spearmen two hundred, at the third hour of the night; 24And provide them beasts, that they may set Paul on, and bring him safe unto Felix the governor.

ok the first highlited passage -- notice pauls not afraid or calling to soldiers.

notice in verse 11 god even said hes going to go testify elswhere --- do you really think he was scared of dying the next day so thats why he told the leader ?

second highlited -- i assume you are thinking this is paul asking for soldiers to protect him ?

notice all paul says is for the kid to tell the person-- isnt it a civil duty to tell the government that there is a murder being plotted ?

and the leader is the one who appointed all the soldiers to ride -- paul never said -- please i need soldiers to protect me. so he didnt utalize soldiers he was put under their authority

if you take it that somehow paul was asking for protection --then we will have to disagree

if god comes to paul in the night and says you will prophecy in rome --- do you really think he was worried for his protection and such thought he needed soldiers ?

now i dont see a reason why he would have to refuse them at all, if im getting a free ride to rome im taking it lol

When God was angry with Israel, he brought in the Chaldeans and Babylonians to war against Israel and take them captive. When he did, he also sent into captivity Daniel, a Godly man and the three Hebrew children.

So can believers also suffer because of the sin of a nation? Oh yea, they sure can!
"May the Lamb that was slain receive the just reward for His sufferings." A quote by Moravian missionary that sold himself (along with a friend) into slavery to reach those that the slave owner prevented from hearing the gospel.

May I live for Him and not for me.

I know this is for fewarechosen, but I would like to answer it from my perspective.

It is not wrong to utilize government, and such. What is wrong is to be personally involved with WAR.

Can we please keep things in their right perspective?

You all keep adding to romans 13 what is not there.

NO where in that verse does it say we are to utilize things pertaining to things that are against the spirit. War is a spiritual issue...that has been stated and it is written...it comes from LUST. What Paul did by utilizing the goverment, in that situation had nothing to do with lust. Sin is born through LUST. Can we keep the focus?

Just to be clear..are you saying that christians are also appointed to God's wrath?

The bible says the opposite...so, I am not understanding you.

If Paul decided not to send the child to inform the commander of the plot I'd agree with you. But he made a conscious decision to send him thus it led to the protection... you don't think this may have been God's will the whole time? We'll never know I guess but the soldiers were used and not refused.

I think it was God's will as illustrated in Romans 13. Also, God never once anywhere rebuked that kind of action in any scripture. Not one time ever has he rebuked that kind of behavior. So we have the example of Paul and the written word to confirm it by two witnesses, as the will of God.

No, our country wasn't being obedient to God's will to fight the terrorists. Not in the 8 years that Clinton was president did he stay on the offense. Instead all he did was take pot shots at them. Bush played it safe in the first few months of his term and God allowed the attack to get us into the fight. Bush has been obedient since, thus no more attacks on our soil.

The wrath wasn't against Christian's it was against our country and Christian's died. Small price in the large scale of purpose that God has to get us to the end of times according to His plan.
