My dear science teacher, if that is your biggest concern, then I think you've missed the whole point. The bible was written to address something that can't be measured or "observed" in the common way that man observes the physical. It was written to reveal God to man and to address the spiritual condition of man/woman; not the physical. It just so happens that the physical life has an affect on the spiritual, and the lack of spiritual understanding shows up in physical ways; ie, death, disease, violence. Now there's a science that you should study
...God understands the effects of the physical and spiritual interactions in ways that we humans could benefit from.

What I really like and appreciate about the Bible is that it truly was written for all time. As SirTanTee said, if various components of science were specifically named in the Bible, people might think it "loony". But just as much to the point, I don't think it would be as relevant to them. Of all the people who have ever had access to scripture to read, how many of them would have taken comfort in finding out information about subatomic particles? Would it have helped them in some fundamental way? My guess is that God knew that people needed to hear and know they were HIS people, and that He is their God..... first and foremost.
