AFter 20 years in Law Enforcement, I don't like to be in crowds. My wife says it is very distracting to see me making eye contact with everybody we walk by.![]()

I try to, but in London it's difficult. When I go away I like to find wide open spaces where I can see for miles and there aren't thousands of people crowded around me.
There are times I despair of a population that rarely wants to stray more than 100 yards from a car park, but when I'm getting away from it all it's nice that the crowds don't follow me.
1Jn 4:1 NKJV Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
1Th 5:21-22 NKJV Test all things; hold fast what is good. (22) Abstain from every form of evil.
I'm a pretty introverted person, so I try to stay away from big crowds as much as possible. I would much rather either be alone or with a small group of people (no more than 5 or 6).
We long to be known and we fear it like nothing else.
Most people live with subtle dread that one day,
they will be discovered for who they really are,
and the world will be appalled.

My Testimony
I don't much like big crowds, but I don't have a particular problem with it. But I do get a phobic reaction from too many people packed into a relatively small space. A small space alone won't do it, but if it's very crowded, it will. In that situation, I may panic and have to leave. That happened to me once at a memorial service for the daughter of a dear friend. It was held in the back room of a small restaurant, and it was packed like sardines. I stayed only long enough to pay my respects, and then bolted for the door.
If at all possible I avoid crowds mainly because I don't want to deal with the petty rudeness of people today.
By the same token I don't just sit home and watch paint dry either.![]()
22 It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
24 The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
Lamentations 3:22-24
Only when they're all looking at me. Standing up to talk is unnerving, so is walking along in the mall alone on one side with a big bunch walking in the oncoming side. I'm an introvert. You don't want to invite me to talk.
I love being around crowds. There is always so much diffrent people with diffrent styles, and I find this amusing!
