Seriously though, get involved in a group that does things you like. Make an effort to be friendly to people and it'll always come back to you. Years ago I worked at a gym and I met so many people, I had a hard time keeping people's names straight. Kinda embarrasing to call everyone "hey..............buddy" so I learned to pay better attention to names
You say the ladies you work with are twice your age, well maybe they have daughters your age. Maybe they're single. Maybe you should go out with them, go places, and meet people together.
Then again, that's trouble. Never go out with a co-worker's daughter unless you want your job to become a disaster.
