CA First Graders Attend Gay Wedding

I love to write stories, but I couldn't make this up...no way. I had to refresh the page several times; I thought it was a joke.

    http://www.cbn.com/cbnnews/463283.aspx <-----
"A group of first graders in San Francisco took a school-sponsored field trip to a homosexual wedding.
The San Francisco Chronicle reports the five-and six-year-olds were pulled out of school to "toss rose petals" on their newly married teacher."

There's a video too. Christians by the bus loads need to rush into San Franscisco and pray, pray, pray!

Jesus, rain down revival and grace in San Franscisco, PLEASE!

Michael Savage spoke about that Monday night on his radio show. I thought he was gonna blow a gasket, but as usual his comments were spot on.

Sickening, that school district should be sued for child abuse.

Lord, Thank You so much for leading me out of the State of my Birth. Lord thank you for not allowing me to stay in the City of my Birth, where children can be pawns for the Godless.

Sorry, had to throw one up to God for rescuing my family.
How tragic. Of course, nothign really new in the conversion of California.
I ate to say that nothing surprises me from there anymore.
Considering their impossibly liberal legislation, I am amazed it is not descending even quicker.

My prayers are for those who remain behind. What a mission field that is.
    Blessings to the Californian Christians.

another thing... what about a wedding has anything to do with school work or learning anything about school. I would love to see me as a homeschool mom take that one to the school board
"oh ya well for our field trip we went to gay weddings"
ummmm and it classifies as what? nothing

Here is the original story from the San Francisco Chronicle that no one appears to have read (since the OP linked article does not link to it).

A group of San Francisco first-graders took an unusual field trip to City Hall on Friday to toss rose petals on their just-married lesbian teacher - putting the public school children at the center of a fierce election battle over the fate of same-sex marriage.

The 18 Creative Arts Charter School students took a Muni bus and walked a block at noon to toss rose petals and blow bubbles on their just-married teacher Erin Carder and her wife Kerri McCoy, giggling and squealing as they mobbed their teacher with hugs.
We can argue whether or not this is a legitimate use of a school time but I don't see active indoctrination here. I see kid's who wanted to see their teacher get married. If this was a normal marriage would this be an issue?

He wounds shame, desecrates mystery, breaks confidence, betrays the community in which he lives, and laughs arrogantly at the devastation he has wrought and at the human weakness which “cannot bear the truth”. Well, the difference would be the fact that this teacher said that this was an important historical event because it is a gay wedding. So, that would be the indoctrination part.

That appears to be the justification for allowing the kids to go from the school's administrative side, but there is not enough to say whether they told the kids this was "an important historical event". It sounds a bit hyperbolic as well.

The young ones often just love their teachers and would want to attend the wedding, same-sex or not. And any field trip would have to be permitted by the children's parents.

That's just it, it isn't normal, hence the indoctrination to teach children early on to accept a deviant lifestyle as normal.

It's not normal, but it is legal.

Their parents let them go. The responsibility is on the parents to either let them go or not. Indoctrination would suggest (to me) this type of event becomes a required part of the curriculum. I understand the perception of indoctrination as stated by the opponents of same-sex marriage. The "teaching moment" appears to have been an after the fact justification of sending the kids on the field trip. I just see nothing coercive here - just a teacher's group of students going to see their teacher get married. The whole thing was suggested by a parent as well.

My main issue would be whether this was an appropriate use of school time. If the wedding was on the weekend I doubt this would even have made it to the newspaper.

Whether the parents gave them permission or not is beside the point...

The point is that a school took a bunch of small children, five and six-years-old to a gay marriage. The line between right and wrong is fading and Jesus the Mediator is not welcome, not in the city of San Fransisco. Do yall see the downward spiral. It grieves my heart.

If it was to a man and wife wedding during the day it wouldn't be tolerated. It wouldn't be an educational issue it would be getting out of school for personal purposes. It was during the week to make a point. It was a blatent open air in your face public wedding to incite the media.

    Amen!

Also if there weren't so many people breathing fire over the issue, this wouldn't have been news.

Seriously, though, the PARENTS GAVE THEIR PERMISSION.
There can be no protest if there was no coercion.

If you want to blame someone for indoctrination, BLAME THE PARENTS.
They had the right and ability to keep their children from going, but CHOSE NOT TO.

The fact that the media can be incited over this type of thing is the fault of those protesting it.
Not that you shouldn't continue to openly protest, whether I agree with you or not.

But don't be surprised when people pull stunts to get publicity.
    You give them that publicity.
