Wink ohhhh Nate took a 'weapon' to school this morning...

Took his knife and I helped cause I put it in his back pack...

of course he has to give it to the teacher as soon as he gets in class and she will let him have it back when its his turn to give a demonstration on how to whittle... He has to read his little cue card and explain how to whittle while showing his classmates how to whittle a spear...(simplest and quickest thing to whittle in the time they have..plus I think that is about all he knows how to whittle anyway...)

I have to pick him up after school too instead of him riding the bus as no weapons are allowed on the bus either. Nate said, yea like I am going to go on a rampage stabbing people... well I would hope not!

I sure hope it goes well for him. He seems pretty confidence and not nervous about talking in front of the class.

    God bless

We cherish the indiscipline of lost self-control and call it relaxation; we slouch toward prayerlessness and delude ourselves into thinking we have escaped legalism; we slide toward godlessness and convince ourselves we have been liberated?" - D A Carson

Hopefully, he will do well, being on the 'cutting edge' of woodworking technology....

Actually in his little report the spear is to be used to pick up trash...(like the park people do in cleaning up the parks..spearing the trash so you don't have to bend over a billion times to pick it up) For spearing fish..in case of being lost in the wilderness...lol...and for target practice....spearing a target on a bail of hay.

That was the ideas he came up with on using it...

lol...well he just started whittling this past summer and hasn't learned how to do more complicated things yet...whittling a stick into a sharper stick is about as far as he has gotten...

My grandpa used to whittle...I whittled as a kid...now Nate is whittling and just started doing it naturally on his own...must run in the family...some odd whittling gene...
