"On Sunday Morning"

Every Sunday morning, dressed in my Sunday best,
I'll be found in church, with all of the rest.

I'm not one of those, for whom you have to search.
I'll be there on Sunday morning, because I love my church.

But now on Sunday evening, well I just can't make it,
Because I have my pill, and you know I gotta' take it.

And my arthritis hurts when I get out in the cold.
Then I barely have the strength, my remote control to hold.

Yes I'll be there on Sunday morning, dressed in my very best.
But on Sunday evening, well I just gotta' get my rest.

So go ahead on Sunday evening, even though I may not hear it.
Physically I'll be here in my den, but I'll be there in the spirit.

Now maybe we ought to give more heed, to this cute little warning,
Because Christ's return to this earth, may not be on Sunday morning!

We must, yes, heed this warning and be ready to receive Him. He will come when we least expect Him.

Can sympathise with your arthritis--I suffer the same way, and also have some bones out of place in my back, which cause me some problems. I will remember you in my prayers every night, Pastor. Your poetry and letters are a joy to read and keep us all on our toes. Your riddles have me diving for the Good Book every day--what better way to find the way around the scriptures!!
