My son lead someone to Christ tonight!

    And he did it online!

My son is 12, almost 13 and has always been vocal about God to his friends..never been shy about it at all...most though are Christians or have some knowledge of God though. This was the first time he encountered someone that had little to no knowledge though. He gets on an online game that has chat on it for the members and is constantly making new friends (and yes I am carefully watching and keeping an eye on things) anyway he made a new friend and who knows how they got started talking about this but she was telling him that demons protect people! That both demons and angels protect people and he told her oh no they don't! She said she read this in some book at school. Her mom apparently has no religious beliefs and her dad is dead. So anyway Nate just started telling her about our faith and was so thrilled he was remembering things I had taught him from the bible and able to tell that to someone in writing. He was very excited. Writing..typing...is difficult for him to get his thoughts expressed this way. He is used to just talking and being able to tell people things like this but had never had to type it like that so was very happy with himself.

Then the discussion went on and on...he talked to her online for a couple of hours in fact as she kept asking him questions. On some thing he had to come to me and ask about or ask how to spell something...lol. At one point he said, now she says she is afraid to die because she might go to hell and I said, well you need to tell her she needs to accept Jesus as her Savior...as He died for our sins and paid that price so we don't have too. So he did...he went through the whole thing I think!

He said she was very friendly and seemed to understand everything he said and very accepting of it all.

Then she had to get off but came back on briefly later and I told him he needed to tell her to go to church (he doesn't think her mom will let her go through) and get a bible and read it or at least read one online.

So anyway throughout this I was praying for the Lord to help him with this..I am all teary now too of course. I told Nate how proud I was of him for what he did and he seemed amazed at what he had done too. So I am praising the Lord for working through my son this evening like this! Thank you Lord!

Nate was so intent on this too that I barely got him to eat supper then he ate as fast as he could so he could get back to her.

    God bless

We cherish the indiscipline of lost self-control and call it relaxation; we slouch toward prayerlessness and delude ourselves into thinking we have escaped legalism; we slide toward godlessness and convince ourselves we have been liberated?" - D A Carson

Wow, MG I will join you in praising God through this. I am truly amazed in the ways God works and he is certainly working through that little man He gave you.
I am a Christian man in the Devil's land, spreading the gospel man to man.
Have you laid your burdens down?

Give Nate a big hug from me, tell him we here are proud of him (and his mom!) and that this is a wonderful thing! Praise God!
    Seek ye FIRST the kingdom.
Not second or third, but first.
Only when all else pales to God, when He receives all glory,
when He is the source of all hope,
when His love is received and freely given,
holding not to the world but to the promise to come,
will all other things be added unto to you.

Thanks all...made me all teary again reading the replies...

You know how us parents are...

He was wearing his "Jesus is Lord" T-shirt I got him the other day...maybe that helped inspire him...lol...

I got all choked up at bedtime prayers last night thanking the Lord for working through my son to do this too. I really wish I wouldn't do that cause then its hard to finish a prayer out loud with him. (deep breath)

    God bless

Raise up a child in the way he should go
And when he is old he will not depart from it.

The tears you have during prayer time will stick with him and help him maintain a gentle and loving heart, no matter how fierce of a man he becomes.

    Be blessed, Moonglow -

Thank you. I can't tell you ..all of you how much your words mean to me.

I tell you I beat myself up ALOT thinking about all the things I should do or don't do with him...thinking all the time I should be working more on his bible knowledge, or this or that...well if you are a parent you know..apparently he remembered most of what he has been taught...

He showed me some of their conversation...they type so funny to each other..one kid to another you know.. they type like what you would see in cell phone texting...hardly ever spelling out whole words...alot of misspelled words when they do type it all out! Like when I told him he spelled 'taught' wrong and typed 'thought' instead he said, well she knows what I meant...lol..and that was all that mattered.

He is exposed to so many negative things in the world and I worry constantly about how that is affecting him...like this morning he said coming home on the bus after school he would be hearing alot of cussing because the bus driver won't let the kids talk so the kids would be carrying on about it quietly by cussing about her...you know that sort of thing... Some of the stuff he tells me these kids talk about in grade school is very shocking and very disheartening. He sees and hears stuff out in public, on TV before I can get the channel changed or accidentally on the net or on the cover of magazines...I just cringe you know...I realize I can't put him in a bubble though, so I pray the Lord watches over him and protects him mind and spirit throughout the day from these sort of things and guides him in all he does...

So anyway while I try... I have to give the credit for this to God...I really do. Without Him we can do nothing anyway.

    God bless

Hey Moonglow, that's wonderful news, and you must be very proud of him. Give him a kiss from another Mom of a twelve year old, over in England. I'll tell my son when he gets home from school, then he'll know he's not the only kid his age who loves Jesus.

I know what you mean about getting teary eyed at prayer time... when we do our bible readings as well sometimes we get all "sobby" as Séa puts it. But it's a happy sorrow, if you know what I mean... you just get overwhelmed with how good God is to you, and through you to others. It's wonderful that your son was used by God for someone else's salvation.

Hey, everyone on this thread... let's pray for the girl Nate reached with the gospel, as well as for Nate to carry on growing in wisdom and love.

    Thanks Moonglow.
Please could everyone pray for Mieke and Charles.
