Serial killer - Heaven or Hell

If a serial killer/rapist is living in sin, killing and raping people as he so plans. Then one day while committing a killing, he in turn is killed. Is there any chance that this person may be going to heaven if during this time he had called himself a Christian, or at some point in his life had made a commitment to Christ. Or is it pretty much for sure that the Bible teaches that he is going to Hell?

What verses in the Bible prove that he is going to hell, or what verses give us the posibility that he is going to heaven considering that he may had given his life to christ at some point in his life.

count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

Then one day while committing a killing, he in turn is killed. Is there any chance that this person may be going to heaven if during this time he had called himself a Christian, or at some point in his life had made a commitment to Christ. Or is it pretty much for sure that the Bible teaches that he is going to Hell?

They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us.

What verses in the Bible prove that he is going to hell, or what verses give us the posibility that he is going to heaven considering that he may had given his life to christ at some point in his life.

Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'

So my answer would be probably not. When you say he is living in sin, but in the past was said to be saved, this shows me that he claimed to be one of us, but was never one of us, for if he was one of us, he would have remained with us.

What if the person was mentally handicapped? Do the mentally retarded go to heaven? What if he developed a brain tumor?

Now I would say if he were completely rational and still killed people then there was some kind of disconnect between him and God.

This person shows himself to be living of the flesh. Those who live of the flesh are not living of the Spirit of God, therefore they will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Ga 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
Ga 5:20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
Ga 5:21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Ga 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Ga 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Ga 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

Just because one professes to be in Christ does not guarantee they have been born again. Many false professors will stand in the Judgment in total shock when Christ says to them, "depart from Me, I never knew you."

    Blessings,
    RW

    Based on what you have said, the following applies;

Rev 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Rev 22:15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

    Definately not Heaven.

I think I will leave the eternal judging up to Jesus. There are laws and consequences for these actions on earth. I think the Bible is full of scripture about general things that can condem people to hell. I can discern those, but I am pretty sure our Just God will take care of the individual cases.

Pretty simple.........unless while after he was shot and laying there dying he called upon the name of the Lord he would probably be playing a harp and floating around the clouds. Remember the thief on the cross. 1 john chpt 2. If he gave his life earlier he was obviously lying.....or I would think he would have least stopped the rapeing.

So pretty much everyone figures this person is going to hell, The same verses says the liars are going to hell. So does that mean that someone who has a lying problem has the same fate?

And what about the Idolaters? How many christians put things before God?

And what about a person that cant get free from the addiction of drinking, Does this mean that all drunks are going to hell?

What about someone living in a homosexual relationship, are they going to hell?

Is there a diference of consequence from one sin to another or are they all the same?

I know someone posted this scripture. But here it is again in a clearer translation.

Galatians 5:19-21 19 When you follow the desires of your sinful nature, the results are very clear: sexual immorality, impurity, lustful pleasures, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hostility, quarreling, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, division, 21 envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

I also want to point out that everyone has some sort of sin in their life from time to time. We can not be completely pure in our daily activities. We can only strive to be like Christ but we can never attain his perfection. I think a key phrase here is anyone living that sort of life. This applies to those activities that rule your life, and if they do then he or she has a problem with Christianity. Your scenario in your opening post implies that the killer lived in that type of lifestyle, and in turn he could not possibly be a Christian.

    This is what Jesus said will happen to individuals that do these things;

This is His judgment, so we are not making our own judgment.

Unless they repent and their sins are forgiven before judgment day they will be rewarded according to their works.

Rev 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

Mt 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Mt 16:27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.

Jn 5:29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

It says those who LOVETH and maketh a lie - the issue is this: do people LOVE their sin? Or are they struggling to put it to death? if the latter (surely all of us?) we will be saved, if the former - we will be lost. A true Christian cannot be indifferent towards their sin - we must hate it and wage war against it - if we're indifferent, we need to ask ourselves - why?

And what about the Idolaters? How many christians put things before God?

    Ditto.

Ditto - with most addictions, it's not a case of CAN'T but WON'T - if the Son shall set you free, you shall be free INDEED Jn 8:32

What about someone living in a homosexual relationship, are they going to hell?

Ditto - they clearly loved their sin more than Christ - therefore they cannot be His disciple (Lk 14:26ff). Jesus Himself says of Jezebel in Rev 2:21 that He gave her time to repent, but she did not repent......

Is there a diference of consequence from one sin to another or are they all the same?

Sin is sin is sin. Either we master it by the Spirit - or it masters us.......

I'm new here, so please be kind! But I'm confused!?! You are saying it is just as bad to lie as it is to rape someone? Or kill somone? You think God looks at those the same way??

There are degrees of sin, but not a great deal - it may surprise you what God sees as the "worst" sins.

If Christ DIED for OUR SINS - no qualification - then surely ALL sin is utterly evil in God's eyes?

The reason being - sin is first and foremost an offense against a holy and righteous God - we tend to look at sin as being "serious" and "not so serious" by the extent to which it affects the "victim" - or there may of course not be any victim!

But God sees it quite differently - we need to see what HE has to say about it - and repent of EVERY sin......

As we approach Christmas, let's remember that the Saviour was to be calkled Jesus because He would save His people FROM their sins (not IN them...).
